Updated 30/09/2018 at 12:37 GMT
Leon Haslam tightened his grip on the British Superbikes title by moving through the field to clinch victory in Race 1 at Assen.
The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider reeled in early leader Tarran Mackenzie before passing him with a few laps remaining.
Haslam's title rival Jake Dixon (RAF Regular and Reserves Kawasaki), who started on pole but slipped back on the first lap, also passed the young McAMS Yamaha rider to limit the damage to his title hopes.
However, he was unable to pass Haslam, who won by 0.086 seconds. Of the other Title Fighters, Peter Hickman and Glenn Irwin finished 4th and 5th respectively, while Josh Brookes was 9th and Bradley Ray 17th.
The victory means Haslam's lead is now 36 points, with one more race in the Dutch Showdown round and then a triple header at Brands Hatch in two weeks.
Race 2 in Assen is at 4.30.
