Double Dutch: Haslam moves to brink of title at Assen

The Kawasaki man continued his season-long dominance by winning both races in the Dutch round, extending his points lead to 61 over Jake Dixon who retired from race two.

Haslam came through an eventful race two that saw two big crashes at the beginning of the start-finish straight.

Dan Linfoot miraculously avoided serious injury in an incident on lap 2 when he was accidentally struck by Glenn Irwin after falling. Meanwhile Tommy Bridewell shunted into Linfoot's bike and had to bail out as the machine exploded into a fireball.

Three laps later, Tarran Mackenzie had a lucky escape, dodging traffic after a spill at the same corner.

Things were rather calmer at the front, where Haslam held off Josh Brookes, with Peter Hickman taking to the bottom step of the podium. Haslam should be confirmed as champion at the season-ending triple header at Brands Hatch on October 13-14.
