Ciaran Baynes

Updated 10/12/2023 at 07:17 GMT

TNT Sports' live coverage of England's white-ball tour of the West Indies continued with the third, and final, One-Day International won by the hosts. With rain interrupting the match, Ben Duckett's 71 dragged England to 208 from 40 overs. A revised target of 188 was set from 34 overs with England in the game until the 24-run 31st over, with Romario Shepherd's 41 off 28 balls taking his side home.

‘That has gone stratospheric’ - Liam Livingstone smashes huge six for England against West Indies

'LIVINGSTONE DROP COST GAME' - COOK

"That catch from Liam Livingstone on the boundary changed the game," Cook said on TNT Sports.
"Yes, its tricky on the boundary under lights, but these guys play a lot under lights. That was the moment when the game changed. If he had taken that catch England would have been heavy favourites. But then Shepherd got that life and from that one ball the game was lost six balls later."
Next up in the Caribbean will be the five-match T20 series beginning on Tuesday night which you can watch only on TNT Sports or Discovery+. We look forward to following the action with you then.

FORDE AND HOPE WIN AWARDS

Matthew Forde on his debut won the Man of the Match award for his 3-29, with Shai Hope being named Player of the Series.

WEST INDIES WIN THE SERIES 2-1

A fittingly close final match. England's total was too few but they had a chance with four overs remaining.

WEST INDIES WON BY FOUR WICKETS (14 BALLS REMAINING)

A thrilling game in the end. That 24-run over put the game firmly in the West Indies' hands.

WEST INDIES 191-6 (SHEPHERD 41, FORDE 13) OVERS: 31.4 - TARGET 188 (34)

A great effort from Shepherd to get them home. Fittingly he scores the winning four down to fine leg.

WEST INDIES 179-6 (SHEPHERD 35, FORDE 12) OVERS: 31 - TARGET 188 (34)

A full toss from Atkinson is clipped high into the sky and Livingstone fails to catch it on the boundary and stop it going for six. Another full toss is then hit high onto the roof of the stand at square leg. Forde also hits a four to fine leg from a waist-high ball on leg stump. After another three, Shepherd smashes a ball low and straight for another boundary. 24 runs from the over in total. That's the ball game folks.

WEST INDIES 155-6 (SHEPHERD 18, FORDE 5) OVERS: 30 - TARGET 188 (34)

Jacks bowls his last over, ending with brilliant figures of 3-22 off 7 overs. The hosts now require 33 off 4 overs.

WEST INDIES 152-6 (SHEPHERD 16, FORDE 4) OVERS: 29 - TARGET 188 (34)

Rehan is smashed straight over the bowler's head and it just goes over Crawley's outstretched arm on the boundary.

WEST INDIES 144-6 (SHEPHERD 9, FORDE 3) OVERS: 28 - TARGET 188 (34)

Just two runs off Jacks' over and now West Indies required 44 off 36 balls.

WEST INDIES 142-6 (SHEPHERD 9, FORDE 2) OVERS: 27 - TARGET 188 (34)

Rehan comes back onto bowl and the over just goes for two runs.

WEST INDIES 140-6 (SHEPHERD 8, FORDE 1) OVERS: 26 - TARGET 188 (34)

Shepherd edges the last ball of the over through the slips. A run-a-ball 48 is required.

WEST INDIES 135-6 (CARTY c and b JACKS 50) OVERS: 25.4 - TARGET 188 (34)

Carty brings up his fifty off 56 balls, but then falls to Jacks caught and bowled. England have to be favourites now.

WEST INDIES 132-5 (CARTY 48, SHEPHERD 3) OVERS: 25 - TARGET 188 (34)

A fantastic six over the deep extra cover boundary opened the over. Carty looks like he is embracing the responsibility.

WEST INDIES 122-5 (CARTY 41, SHEPHERD 0) OVERS: 24 - TARGET 188 (34)

Just the one run of the over - and the wicket of course. Buttler felt there should have been a wicket with the final ball but replays show it struck Shepherd's thigh pad.

WEST INDIES 122-5 (RUTHERFORD c CRAWLEY b JACKS 3) OVERS: 23.2 - TARGET 188 (34)

Jacks didn't do it with the bat but he has certainly delivered with the ball. And England have a real chance now.

WEST INDIES 121-4 (CARTY 40, RUTHERFORD 3) OVERS: 23 - TARGET 188 (34)

Livingstone bowls another good over, though Carty loosens the pressure with a two off the last ball.

WEST INDIES 116-4 (CARTY 38, RUTHERFORD 0) OVERS: 22 - TARGET 188 (34)

A wicket maiden from Jacks. With the last ball he beats the bat of Rutherford with a fantastic off-spinner. Now the run-rate required is up to a run a ball.

WEST INDIES 116-4 (HETMYER c SALT b JACKS 12) OVERS: 21.1 - TARGET 188 (34)

A huge wicket as Hetmyer cuts the ball straight to Salt at backward point.

WEST INDIES 116-3 (CARTY 38, HETMYER 12) OVERS: 21 - TARGET 188 (34)

Four singles from Livingstone's over.

WEST INDIES 112-3 (CARTY 35, HETMYER 11) OVERS: 20 - TARGET 188 (34)

Five dot balls and then the last ball from Jacks was a little short and Hetmyer rocks about and hits a low six to deep backward square leg.

WEST INDIES 106-3 (CARTY 35, HETMYER 5) OVERS: 19 - TARGET 188 (34)

Big appeal from Livingstone for Hetmyer being leg before and after running down the clock, Buttler reviews the decision but it showed Hetmyer had nicked the ball before it struck the pad.

WEST INDIES 103-3 (CARTY 34, HETMYER 2) OVERS: 18 - TARGET 188 (34)

Jacks bowls a good first over conceding just three runs.

WEST INDIES 100-3 (CARTY 33, HETMYER 1) OVERS: 17 - TARGET 188 (34)

A single from Hetmyer's first ball brings the Windies hundred up off 102 balls.

WEST INDIES 99-3 (HOPE c POTTS b REHAN 15) OVERS: 16.5 - TARGET 188 (34)

He has character this lad. After being blasted back over his head for six he forces a missed-timed shot from his googly and the series top scorer hits to Potts at midwicket.

WEST INDIES 91-2 (CARTY 32, HOPE 7) OVERS: 16 - TARGET 188 (34)

A wonderful shot to the cover boundary on his tiptoes brings Hope his first boundary of the innings. Less than 100 runs required now.

WEST INDIES 80-2 (CARTY 30, HOPE 1) OVERS: 15 - TARGET 188 (34)

Another tidy over from Rehan. A little pressure being applied now.

WEST INDIES 78-2 (ATHANAZE lbw b ATKINSON 45) OVERS: 14 - TARGET 188 (34)

Athanaze misses a full ball and though he challenges the decision, three red lights were shown and he has to return to the dressing room.

WEST INDIES 76-1 (ATHANAZE 44, CARTY 28) OVERS: 13 - TARGET 188 (34)

England appeal for a caught behind but the ball actually clipped the stump after Rehan beat Athanaze with a googly but did not dislodge the bails.

WEST INDIES 75-1 (ATHANAZE 43, CARTY 28) OVERS: 12 - TARGET 188 (34)

This is an innings which will boost Carty's confidence. Another superbly timed drive through the off side brought a boundary.

WEST INDIES 67-1 (ATHANAZE 41, CARTY 23) OVERS: 11 - TARGET 188 (34)

Such a tough situation for Rehan. He drops short outside the off stump and Athanaze cuts to the boundary behind point.

WEST INDIES 62-1 (ATHANAZE 35, CARTY 23) OVERS: 10 - TARGET 188 (34)

Carty looks in great form and he pulls Potts to the square leg boundary.

WEST INDIES 57-1 (ATHANAZE 35, CARTY 19) OVERS: 9 - TARGET 188 (34)

Rehan Ahmed comes onto bowl and his second ball is a little short and Athanaze, a little edgily, hits to the boundary to bring up the 50 partnership off 42 balls. The last ball is smashed back over the bowler's head by Carty.

WEST INDIES 47-1 (ATHANAZE 30, CARTY 14) OVERS: 8 - TARGET 188 (34)

Good over from Potts with just the two runs from it.

WEST INDIES 45-1 (ATHANAZE 29, CARTY 13) OVERS: 7 - TARGET 188 (34)

A pretty decent over from Curran but these two are taking the game away from England and quickly.

WEST INDIES 40-1 (ATHANAZE 25, CARTY 12) OVERS: 6 - TARGET 188 (34)

Potts comes onto bowl. Another fine Athanaze boundary this time a back foot cover drive and then he turns a ball on his hip to fine leg for another four.

WEST INDIES 30-1 (ATHANAZE 17, CARTY 11) OVERS: 5 - TARGET 188 (34)

Athanaze edges one for four, is troubled by a few deliveries and then rocks onto his back foot to pull beautifully for a four in front of square.

WEST INDIES 21-1 (ATHANAZE 9, CARTY 11) OVERS: 4 - TARGET 188 (34)

Carty with another classy boundary. This time a back foot drive to the point boundary.

WEST INDIES 14-1 (ATHANAZE 6, CARTY 5) OVERS: 3 - TARGET 188 (34)

Curran gets punished for a short and wide delivery cutting for a boundary but the next ball beats the batsman's outside edge.

WEST INDIES 8-1 (ATHANAZE 2, CARTY 5) OVERS: 2 - TARGET 188 (34)

A great start for England with the ball. But Carty hits the first boundary when Atkinson loses his line and pitches the ball short on leg stump.

WEST INDIES 2-1 (KING c JACKS b ATKINSON 1) OVERS: 1.2 - TARGET 188 (34)

England get the early wicket they needed. King looks at the pitch suggested the ball reared up on him after he miss-hits the ball straight to cover.

WEST INDIES 2-0 (ATHANAZE 1, KING 1) OVERS: 1 - TARGET 188 (34)

Curran surprises Athanaze with his first delivery which swings in viciously and strikes the batsman on the pad. He also beats him with an outswinger.

2352 - REVISED TARGET - 188 OFF 34 OVERS

One bowler can only bowl six overs, four can bowl a maximum of seven. We are almost ready to resume.

2340 - NO SIGN OF IMMINENT RETURN TO PLAY

Matthew Forde is confident his side's batsmen, given the chance, will win the game for the Windies.

THE COVERS ARE BACK ON...

What did I just say? Another delay here, hopefully not too long.

WEST INDIES NEED 207 TO WIN FROM 40 OVERS

Let's hope there are no more rain interruptions, it could still be an interesting chase if England get early wickets.

ENGLAND 206-9 (ATKINSON 20, POTTS 15) OVERS: 40

England pass the 200-mark in the final over. Potts carved a slightly short ball past wide long on for a boundary. A full toss over hip height also gave a free hit which Potts could only garner a single from. 11 in all from the over. A fantastic effort from these two to put on 35 for the last wicket.

ENGLAND 195-9 (ATKINSON 18, POTTS 7) OVERS: 39

Carty drops his second catch of the game. Potts hit the ball straight to him at extra cover. The next ball Atkinson edges through the vacant slips for four. He could have ended with four wickets but Forde will be delighted with his figures of 3-29.

ENGLAND 186-9 (ATKINSON 13, POTTS 3) OVERS: 38

Get Gus Atkinson up the order! Two slightly short balls are clipped for boundaries, the first rocketing for a maximum, the next too fine for long leg to stop.

ENGLAND 174-9 (ATKINSON 2, POTTS 2) OVERS: 37

Just a couple of singles off Motie's last over.

ENGLAND 172-9 (ATKINSON 1, POTTS 1) OVERS: 36

Potts gets off the mark. These two will just try to get to 40 overs now.

ENGLAND 171-9 (CURRAN c MOTIE b JOSEPH 12) OVERS: 35.2

Joseph gets his third wicket as Motie catches the ball at wide third man as current doesn't get enough on an attempted cut over the point boundary.

ENGLAND 171-8 (CURRAN 12, ATKINSON 1) OVERS: 35

Motie with another tight over with just three singles. Five overs left now.

ENGLAND 168-8 (CURRAN 10, ATKINSON) OVERS: 34

Eight off the over with three wides, but Joseph did get the crucial wicket.

ENGLAND 166-8 (REHAN c HOPE b JOSEPH 15) OVERS: 33.5

Rehan backs away and looks to swat a short ball over the covers but edges behind.

ENGLAND 160-7 (CURRAN 8, REHAN 12) OVERS: 33

Nice over from Cariah, beating the outside of Rehan's bat with a perfect leg spinner with the third ball.

WE ARE BACK UNDERWAY...

Joseph to bowl the 34th over.

2235: WE ARE DOWN TO A 40-OVER GAME

This is assuming we get back underway in the next ten minutes.

2225: THE COVERS ARE COMING OFF...

No promises but hopefully more cricket soon.
England will have less overs to bat, we're not sure how many yet.
Here's a reminder of all the cricket you can catch on TNT Sports:

AND THE COVERS ARE BACK ON...

It is not heavy rain, but we will have to wait and see how long the players will be off.

ENGLAND 160-7 (CURRAN 8, REHAN 12) OVERS: 33

Nice over from Cariah, beating the outside of Rehan's bat with a perfect leg spinner with the third ball.

ENGLAND 158-7 (CURRAN 7, REHAN 12) OVERS: 32

Forde back onto bowl for his seventh over. Just two runs off it. He can bowl two more after this.

ENGLAND 156-7 (CURRAN 6, REHAN 11) OVERS: 31

We know all about his bowling but Rehan is showing his quality with the bat, smashing another ball cleanly back over the bowler's head which was stopped just short of the boundary.

ENGLAND 152-7 (CURRAN 5, REHAN 8) OVERS: 30

Another boundary from Rehan. He connected perfectly with a lofted cover drive which flew just over the head of the fielder.

ENGLAND 147-7 (CURRAN 4, REHAN 4) OVERS: 29

A beautiful Rehan cover drive from his first delivery suggests he may be able to help Curran get England somewhere near 200.

ENGLAND 147-7 (CURRAN 4, REHAN 4) OVERS: 29

A beautiful Rehan cover drive from his first delivery suggests he may be able to help Curran get England somewhere near 200.

ENGLAND 142-7 (LIVINGSTONE c RUTHERFORD b SHEPHERD 45) OVERS: 28

Disaster for England. Joseph gave Livingstone nothing to hit and after four dot balls he smashed the next ball to mid on.

ENGLAND 140-6 (LIVINGSTONE 44, CURRAN 2) OVERS: 27

England no longer going after Cariah. You get the feeling these two want to get to the 33-over mark then attack the last ten overs.

ENGLAND 138-6 (LIVINGSTONE 43, CURRAN 1) OVERS: 26

Duckett has taken England to a position they can attack from but they desperately need Curran to give Livingstone support here if they are to get a total over 200 which they can defend.

ENGLAND 137-6 (DUCKETT c KING b SHEPHERD 71) OVERS: 25.1

Shepherd comes back into bowl and gets Duckett first ball. A cross-seamed delivery bounces more than the England batsman anticipates and he hits straight to shot mid-wicket.

ENGLAND 137-5 (DUCKETT 71, LIVINGSTONE 43) OVERS: 25

Cariah replaces Motie and beats Livingstone who looked to slog sweep for six and was fortunate the ball spun away from the off stump when it struck him. The last ball Livingstone goes back to the same shot and just clears Shepherd and the boundary.

ENGLAND 128-5 (DUCKETT 69, LIVINGSTONE 36) OVERS: 24

Surprisingly Joseph stays on for another over but he bowls well and should have had Livingstone caught at square leg but Carty dropped a straight-forward chance. Livingstone then nudges past the vacant slips region for a boundary to end the over.

ENGLAND 121-5 (DUCKETT 67, LIVINGSTONE 31) OVERS: 23

The plan remains the same. Get what is possible off Motie and then attack the other end.

ENGLAND 118-5 (DUCKETT 65, LIVINGSTONE 30) OVERS: 22

Joseph back into bowl and the first delivery is a buffet ball on leg stump which Duckett hits for six over long leg. The next is powered cross-batted towards cow corner for four. Livingstone then clears square leg with a huge hit from a straight bowl in the slot.

ENGLAND 101-5 (DUCKETT 54, LIVINGSTONE 24) OVERS: 21

He hasn't played many sweeps Duckett after getting out early in the series with the shot but he has the confidence to do so now to Motie. One ball explodes off the surface leading Livingstone to smile after defending it. The hundred comes up off 126 balls. They have scored at an even pace throughout.

ENGLAND 97-5 (DUCKETT 52, LIVINGSTONE 22) OVERS: 20

Duckett reaches his fifty off 56 balls. No mean feat as wickets have fallen at the other end.

ENGLAND 91-5 (DUCKETT 48, LIVINGSTONE 20) OVERS: 19

Aniother economical Motie over.

ENGLAND 88-5 (DUCKETT 47, LIVINGSTONE 18) OVERS: 18

A better over from Cariah, even when he overstepped on the fifth ball he beat Livingstone in the flight from the next so the free hit was not costly.

ENGLAND 84-5 (DUCKETT 45, LIVINGSTONE 17) OVERS: 17

It is pretty clear they will just look to see out Motie and score elsewhere.

ENGLAND 81-5 (DUCKETT 43, LIVINGSTONE 16) OVERS: 16

Cariah comes onto bowl for this first time in the innings. Duckett hits the second ball for four dispatching an over-pitched ball through the off side. Livingstone more streaky hitting looking to hit down the ground but it spins towards the extra cover boundary. 10 runs in all off it.

ENGLAND 71-5 (DUCKETT 38, LIVINGSTONE 10) OVERS: 15

They are taking no risks with Motie at this stage.

ENGLAND 69-5 (DUCKETT 37, LIVINGSTONE 10) OVERS: 14

England's first boundary in a while as Livingstone pulls Joseph in front of square. 11 runs off the over in all.

ENGLAND 58-5 (DUCKETT 32, LIVINGSTONE 4) OVERS: 13

The first over from Motie. England just looking to build a partnership patiently now.

ENGLAND 55-5 (DUCKETT 30, LIVINGSTONE 2) OVERS: 12

Livingstone whacks a short ball but he did not time it and the ball hit high on the back. He was fortunate it was against the wind and it did not reach the man at deep backward square leg.

ENGLAND 51-5 (DUCKETT 28, LIVINGSTONE 1) OVERS: 11

Duckett a little more circumspect now and you can't blame him. England's fifty is up. Not a cause for celebration.

ENGLAND 49-5 (DUCKETT 27, LIVINGSTONE 0) OVERS: 10

What a big over that was for the West Indies. Could well be game turning.

ENGLAND 49-5 (BUTTLER c MOTIE b JOSEPH 0) OVERS 9.4

Buttler goes for a golden duck. It was a short ball from Joseph which he top-edged down to long leg where Motie took the catch.

ENGLAND 48-4 (BROOK run out 1) OVERS 9.2

Brook nudged to the leg side and ran for a single but Joseph fielding off his own bowling through down the stumps at the bowler's end. A little stutter from Brook was fatal.

ENGLAND 47-3 (DUCKETT 25, BROOK 1) OVERS: 9

Brook gets off the mark.

ENGLAND 45-3 (JACKS c HOPE b FORDE 17) OVERS 8.1

The dream start continues. This time Jacks nicks behind. Good length or just short of a length balls are hard to play on this surface and this one was feathered outside off stump.

ENGLAND 45-2 (JACKS 17, DUCKETT 24) OVERS: 8

Duckett hits fours from three of the first four balls. The first was thanks to awful fielding at long leg from Forde, letting the ball slip through him and the next a wide full ball Duckett smashed to the cover boundary. Another boundary came from a short wide ball Duckett hit through the covers once more.

ENGLAND 33-2 (JACKS 17, DUCKETT 12) OVERS: 7

Jacks doesn't quite time a lofted drive over the top but the retreating mid on cannot get to the ball.

ENGLAND 27-2 (JACKS 13, DUCKETT 10) OVERS: 6

Jacks begins by crashing another over the covers. He was beaten by the third ball outside off stump though.

ENGLAND 20-2 (JACKS 7, DUCKETT 9) OVERS: 5

Almost a third wicket as Jacks misjudges a ball slightly short of a length which bounces just short of midwicket. The pitch is playing tricks.

ENGLAND 19-2 (JACKS 6, DUCKETT 9) OVERS: 4

Duckett rocks on the back foot and pulls for four, adding another couple with a drive past mid off.

ENGLAND 11-2 (JACKS 6, DUCKETT 1) OVERS: 3

An incredible start to an international career.

ENGLAND 8-2 (CRAWLEY c ATHANAZE b FORDE 0) OVERS 2.4

What a start for Forde! This one a strange dismissal as the ball caught the glove of Crawley as he was looking to pull out of a shot looping up for an easy catch to Athanaze in the slips.

ENGLAND 8-1 (JACKS 4, CRAWLEY 0) OVERS: 2

Again just one scoring shot, this one with Jacks hitting straight down the ground along the floor from a Shepherd ball which was a little too full.

ENGLAND 4-1 (SALT c JOSEPH b FORDE 4) OVERS: 1

Matthew Forde gets the new cherry on his debut and takes a wicket with the final ball. The second ball was short and smashed to the boundary by Salt square of the wicket. The last one was full and punched into the air by Salt to mid off where Joseph caught the ball moving to this right and stretching forwards. They had to check it but it is out.

1926 - AMBROSE PREDICTS SOME BOUNCE...

This will encourage England if it does come to pass. It has been a spinner's pitch at Bridgetown in recent years.

1920: TEAM NEWS - ONE CHANGE FOR EACH TEAM

Matthew Forde comes in for Oshone Thomas for the hosts, while Matthew Potts replaces Brydon Carse in the England XI.
West Indies: Athanaze, King, Carty, Hope, Hetmyer, Rutherford, Shepherd, Cariah, Joseph, Motie, Forde.
England: Jacks, Salt, Crawley, Duckett, Brook, Buttler, Livingstone, Curran, Ahmed, Atkinson, Potts

1916: WEST INDIES WIN THE TOSS AND OPT TO FIELD

The chasing team have won both games so far.

1910: IT WILL BE A 43-OVER MATCH

Three bowlers will be able to bowl nine overs, two can bowl a maximum of eight.

1906: TOSS COMING SHORTLY...

1900: THE TEAMS ARE WARMING UP ON THE FIELD

And there are some blue skies, hopefully this is not another false dawn.

1850: COVERS ARE COMING OFF

Will they remain so?

1840: NO SIGN OF RAIN ABATING

It is getting to the stage where the length of the match will surely be curtailed now.

1820: NO NEWS ISN'T GOOD NEWS

There's still drizzle, too much for the match to begin.

1810: A REMINDER OF HOW BUTTLER CAME BACK WITH A BANG LAST TIME OUT

1800: ANOTHER DELAY...

The covers have gone back on. This is annoying. It is not torrential, the England players are playing football in the outfield.

1745: TOSS EXPECTED IN NEXT FIVE MINUTES

1736: MATCH WILL START AT 1810

The toss go ahead in the next few minutes.

1723: THE COVERS ARE COMING OFF

Hopefully the toss will not be long away now.

1715: MATTHEW POTTS SET TO PLAY

He is expected to replace Brydon Carse.

1703: TOSS IS DELAYED

The toss will not go ahead as scheduled as the covers are not a reliable surface to flip the coin on. Hopefully the delay will not be long.

1650: THE COVERS ARE ON!

It looks like being a delayed start to coverage of the match with rain forcing the groundsmen to put covers on the wicket.

Hello and welcome!

Thanks for joining TNT Sports' coverage of the deciding third One-Day International between the West Indies and England from Bridgetown. West Indies won the first ODI last Sunday, but England came back to record a convincing win on Wednesday. Both chasing teams won so the toss may be crucial. We'll have the result of this and the teams as soon as we get them.
