Norwegian Heidi Weng won the final stage of the Tour de Ski to finish top of the pile for the first time in her career.
Heading into the seventh and final event of this season's Tour de Ski, Weng found herself trailing Stina Nilsson of Sweden by 19.2 seconds.
But in the 9km pursuit up the final climb in Val di Fiemme, Italy, Weng stormed home in 33:34.3 minutes to leapfrog Nilsson, who came home third, 1:54.4 behind the Norwegian champion.
The result sees Weng crowned Tour de Ski champion for the first time in her career, following three consecutive third-place finishes, while it also extends her lead atop the World Cup standings.
The Sochi 2014 Olympic bronze medallist now leads the overall World Cup standings on 1351 points, while she also leads the distance rankings with 598.
Sandwiched between Weng and Nilsson on the Tour de Ski podium was Krista Parmakoski of Finland, having finished eighth last time out.
