Norwegian Iversen claims top spot in Oberstdorf

Emil Iversen led a Norwegian one-two as he topped the podium in the men’s 15km Tour de Ski in Oberstdorf.

Iversen, 26, edged out compatriot Sindre Bjoernestad Skar to win in 29:49.8 for his first victory of the season, just 0.4 seconds ahead of his fellow Norwegian.
Italian skier Francesco De Fabiani completed the podium positions in 29:50.7.
Iversen’s victory sees him climb to 13th in the overall World Cup standings, currently dominated by Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, on 752 points, 239 ahead of second-placed Alexander Bolshunov.
Iversen is also 13th in the Tour de Ski overall standings, which Dario Cologna of Switzerland leads after two victories on his home slopes of Lenzerheide last time out.
Russian Sergey Ustiugov is second in the Tour de Ski standings, while Norwegian Martin Johnsrud Sundby is third.
