Ida Ingemarsdotter and Maja Dahlqvist caused a shock as Sweden dominated the first Ladies team sprint of the cross country skiing World Cup.
The Swedish duo beat their much fancied compatriots Hanna Falk and Stina Nillson into second place in Dresden in a tightly-contested race.
Ingemarsdotter, a double medallist at Sochi 2014 in the team events, broke the line in a time of 13:33.40.
Falk and Nilsson were only 0.16 seconds behind while third on the day were the USA pairing of Ida Sargent and Sophie Caldwell, only 0.07 seconds down on second.
In the men's team event it was Italy who emerged victorious as Dietmar Noeckler and Federico Pellegrino did the damage, winning in a time of 12:18.31.
The Swedish duo of Emil Jonsson and Teodor Peterson were second while Russia were third, Andrey Krasnov and Gleb Retivykh finishing over a second down on the Italians.
Switzerland were just outside the podium places for the men.
