Oestberg is the only female cross-country skier to have recorded at least one top-three stage finish in each of the last seven editions of the Tour de Ski but the Norwegian finally climbed the podium for her first overall triumph – having finished second in both 2016 and 2018.

'Huge' - Oestberg thrashes rivals in Val Di Fiemme

That was a full 2:42.0 ahead of her nearest rival Natalia Nepryaeva, with the Russian tiring badly in the final stages but doing just enough to take silver by holding off Finland's Krista Parmakoski by 13.9 seconds.
It was Nepryaeva's first podium finish in the Tour de Ski, while Parmakoski came second in 2017.
Oestberg extended her advantage atop the season-long World Cup standings with former leader, and two-time Tour de Ski champion, Therese Johaug opting to sit out this year's edition.
