Gaviria has been in hospital quarantine for the past two weeks after the cancellation of the UAE Tour.
And on Thursday the 25-year-old confirmed he has been suffering with the illness.
In the short video statement Gaviria said: "Thanks to the team and all the health specialists here in UAE - I'm okay and I'm feeling good."
Gaviria’s UAE team opted to isolate themselves following the race, saying in a statement:
Despite being given the green light to travel home and the last tests carried out coming back negative, our team has decided to extend their stay in the UAE to continue testing everyone’s conditions and go home only with the safety of non-contagion.
Three other teams were also place in an enforced quarantine after the race, with Cofidis, Groupama-FDJ and Gazprom-RusVelo all kept in the hotel after fears of spreading the virus.
