Belgian rider Jolien D’Hoore has won the opening stage of the OVO Energy Women’s Tour in Southwold.
D’Hoore, who broke her collarbone only last month following a crash in Germany, crossed the line ahead of Italy’s Marta Bastianelli and Coryn Rivera of the United States.
The 28-year-old Mitchelton-Scott rider was the strongest in the final sprint of the 130-kilometre stage which set off from Framlingham, Suffolk.
The second stage of the Tour will get under way in Rushden, Northamptonshire on Thursday, and will conclude in south Wales on Sunday.
