Cycling news - Florian Senechal wins first race as QuickStep triumph again
Updated 07/03/2019 at 10:10 GMT
QuickStep extended their winning streak as Florian Senechal scooped a maiden win over the cobbles at Le Samyn.
Senechal eased clear from a four-man group in the closing moments to finish ahead of Aime De Gendt (Wanty-Gobert) and Niki Terpstra (Direct Energie).
The Frenchman was the sole representative in the top 10 outside of the Netherlands and Belgium.
Zdnenek Stybar kicked off the Classics season with victory for QuickStep at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday, with team-mate Bob Jungels matching his exploits the following day at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.
Incredibly, it briefly looked as though another QuickStep rider, domestique Tim Declercq, would triumph on Tuesday, but his late attack was snuffed out as Senechal scored his first victory at 25.
