The pace is relentless and it's taken a big toll on the break. What was a ten-man group is now down to just three, with Warren Barguil still in that select group in the polka dot jersey.

Today could be a day for the breakaway to claim a stage win... but they'll be wary of that sharp climb up the Col de Peira Taillade. It's the first time the climb has ever been used and will offer more of a test than it looks on paper. An eye-watering 14% draw midway up looks likely to be the pivotal moment of the day.

The break have hit the opening slopes of Montee de Naves d'Aubrac - the first of two particularly testing climbs today. The peloton aren't giving the break much time at the moment.

There's a 10-man breakaway that currently has close to a minute advantage on the peloton. The key protagonist here is polka dot jersey wearer Warren Barguil who no doubt fancies some more points on this early climb.

We're under way, and there'll be no leisurely start today - the category 1 Montee de Naves d'Aubrac comes after just 28.5km and the ascent will start in around 20 minutes...
