Team Sunweb win women's team time trial
Team Sunweb grabbed the glory at the World Championships in Bergen on Sunday by winning the women's team time trial after a dominant display.
The six-women Dutch team beat 2016 winner Boels Dolmans by 12 seconds after clocking a time of 55:41 at the end of 42.5km.
The defending champion started last, but were always outside the pace set by Sunweb on the opening day of this year's event in Norway.
Cervelo-Bigla team finished 28 seconds slower.
"None of us really expected this - we were going for the podium,” said Ellen van Dijk of Sunweb.
"We had a really smooth race. When we finished we just thought it was a great ride and were just happy anyway. So when we saw we were so close to Boels, we couldn’t believe it. And then we beat them - it’s still a little surreal."
