The twins, 26, are currently competing at La Vuelta with Simon leading the general classification.
Once the Vuelta finishes they will be part of Britain's squad that will travel to Innsbruck, Austria for the World Championships between September 23-30.
The two big notable omissions are Team Sky riders Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas, winners of the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France respectively.
The pair were both on the long list for the squad but have decided to end their seasons following their exertions.
"Froome and Thomas are obvious omissions from the men's team, and this was a decision we made mutually," said British Cycling performance director Stephen Park.
"Given the challenging nature of the course, we want every rider selected to be able to give their 100% to the team, and on the back of what has been an incredible season for both, it's understandable they are unable to commit to this."
Commonwealth bronze medallist Dani Rowe headlines the women's squad alongside Hannah Barnes.
Ethan Hayter, who made waves at the European Championships, is part of the U23 squad.
