Swimming news - Laugher claims second bronze in Japan

The 24-year-old – who had already claimed 3m synchro alongside partner Dan Goodfellow in Sagamihara – totted up 469.25 points from his six dives to finish behind Chinese duo Siyi Xie and Yuan Cao.

Despite three impressive efforts, Laugher wasn't able to capitalise with his final three dives as world champion Xie wrapped up gold, with the Harrogate native targeting consistency as he settles into a busy calendar of events.

"Individually, the first three were great but the last three, not so much – but it's a learning curve," he said.

"Nationals [last month] weren't so good, so I wasn't the normal, confident Jack, and I was a little bit more nervous.

"I've got Beijing next week and hopefully I'll use what I've learnt and move forward and do better. The goal will be to try and improve on those last three dives."

Elsewhere on day two of the event, Lois Toulson narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the women's 10m platform, before she returned to finish sixth alongside Matty Lee in the mixed 10m synchro, while Ross Haslam was seventh in semi-final A on his world series debut.

The final day of competition sees Tom Daley compete in the men's 10m platform and the mixed 3m synchro with Grace Reid.
