With two bronzes and a silver already to his name in 2019, the two-time Olympic medallist put in a stellar performance to take the elusive gold in Kazan.
It wasn't looking good with three dives to go as Chinese star Jianfeng Peng was in full control of the leaderboard - but a sublime total of 91.65 points in Laugher's next dive saw him take the lead and hold on.
A total of 499.30 points proved to be good enough as he beat out Russia's Evgeny Kuznetsov and Peng by over 30 points.
Elsewhere, Lois Toulson and Robyn Birch just missed out on final places as they each placed fourth in their respective women's 10m platform semi-finals.
Birch was also in action in the mixed platform synchro as she teamed up with men’s platform synchro silver medallist Matty Lee - but the duo could only muster sixth place.
The British contingent will now look forward to the fifth and final leg of the Diving World Series in London next week.
