Anthony, have you already tried the new Silverstone layout? What are the main changes?
"I've been round the new circuit on the simulator and in different road cars. The main changes concern the exit from Club and Abbey, plus the new loop which comprises a tight right-hander followed by left-hander which is every bit as tight. You now enter Brooklands from the former Club straight which has also changed slightly. The run from Maggots through to Becketts hasn't been modified, though, which is a good thing because they are two absolutely fantastic corners."
What sort of set-up does the new Silverstone call for?
"The new track places the emphasis more on braking and the slower turns, which means finding a compromise that works round a full lap rather than going for all-out speed."
Do you have any particular memories of Silverstone?
"Silverstone is where I first got to drive a racing car, and I've taken a number of wins there in a variety of championships, although I've only contested the British Grand Prix there once, in 2007 with Super Aguri. I can't wait to drive the Peugeot prototype at Silverstone and it would be great to win my home race."
After the 1,000km of Silverstone, Anthony Davidson will team up once again with Marc Gene and Alex Wurz for Petit Le Mans, his first competitive outing in the USA since his win at Sebring at the beginning of the year.
