This weekend, the Longines Global Champions Tour makes its final French stop of the 2018 season. After fantastic competitions on the Côte d'Azur in Cannes and St. Tropez, and an exciting Parisian rendezvous near the Eiffel Tower, comes a show at a site dedicated to equestrianism. The background of this latest 5* showdown is the historic, architecturally unique Château of Chantilly north of Paris.

Taking advantage of a break between these five-star meetings in Paris and Chantilly, the stars of the sport have been letting their top mounts relax a little, and have also had the chance to indulge in (among other culinary delicacies) the famous Chantilly cream – invented in the 17th century by the outstanding French chef – and maitre d’hotel at Chantilly – Francois Vatel.

After ten previous Longines Global Champions Tour competitions this year, nine riders have already secured a ticket for the December LGCT Super Grand Prix in Prague: the winner from Madrid and St. Tropez, Britain’s Ben Maher, his compatriot Scott Brash (Mexico City), Australian Edwina Tops-Alexander (Miami Beach), Belgian Gregory Wathelet (Shanghai), Dutchman Harrie Smolders (Hamburg), Swede Peder Fredricson (Cannes), Belgian Nicola Philippaerts (Cascais), Irishman Shane Breen (Monaco) and Egyptian Sameh El Dahan (Paris).
