There is new hope for the 2021 European Eventing Championships. The World Equestrian Association FEI has reopened the bid. National Federations and Organisers can apply until 15t January 2021.
Good news for all eventing riders. The FEI has decided to reopen the bid for the European Eventing Championships 2021. A decision following numerous requests, from different sides, amongst them many well known riders. One of them being Michael Jung, who posted on his facebook account at the end of October, that the decision to cancel the EC had to be thought over again. Claiming that indeed there would be organisers having interest, Michael Jung named the organisers in Avenches (Switzerland) who would think about the possibility of holding the European Championships in Switzerland. His post closed with a call for action, asking riders to get up and turn to the FEI.
Though the FEI has decided to think again about the European Eventing Championships, it is not safe, that the EC 2021 will take place. Numbers of Corona victims are still increasing and with the new variations of the virus an even higher threat for rising infections numbers endangers all events. The bid is open now until 15th of January 2021, in March 2021 the FEI will decide upon the European Eventing Championships.
