Sergei Remennik’s impressive consistency in the FIA European Rally Championship has propelled the Russian to the top of the ERC2 rankings after two rounds.
Remennik has finished second in class two events running, including on Rally Islas Canarias last month where he placed runner-up behind defending champion Tibor Érdi Jr.
But the Russian Performance Motorsport driver admitted he got lucky after Juan Carlos Alonso dropped out at the halfway point on day two.
“We were lucky with second place but it’s not rally,” said Remennik, who heroically overcame powersteering failure to remain in podium contention.
