FIA European Rally Championship drivers past and present were on top form on Germany’s round of the world series counter, which finished in St Wendel yesterday (19 August).
Ott Tänak beat fellow former ERC event winner Thierry Neuville to the overall victory as 2014 ERC champion Esapekka Lappi rounded out the top three.

Behind Craig Breen – another ERC graduate – Marijan Griebel (pictured) scored his maiden world championship points on his second outing in a World Rally Car – part of his prize for winning the ERC Junior Under 28 Championship – in eighth place.

Jan Kopecký, the 2013 European champion, revved up for this week’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín, his home round of the ERC, with victory in the world championship’s second tier.

ERC Junior U28 leader Fabian Kreim finished a fine fourth in class for ŠKODA AUTO Deutschland, one place ahead of double ERC champion Kajetan Kajetanowicz.

ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team drivers Tom Kristensson and Mārtiņš Sesks claimed multiple stage wins in the RC4 division but were ultimately out of luck.
