Tamara Molinaro continues to top the ERC Ladies’ Trophy standings after a determined effort by the Italian enabled her to finish Barum Czech Rally Zlín last weekend.
Molinaro, competing with new co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini for the first time, was leading the ERC Ladies’ Trophy in the Czech Republic only for a powersteering issue to slow her Opel ADAM R2 and drop her to second in class.

Nevertheless, by making it to the finish, Molinaro’s margin over Emma Falcón stands at 54 points with two events remaining.

“It was probably the most difficult rally I've ever driven,” said the Red Bull-backed 19-year-old. “The stages here were so incredibly narrow, dirty and yet fast. On Sunday there were still problems with the powersteering but I'm glad we managed to get the ADAM R2 to the finish line and to hold the lead in the ERC Ladies' Trophy.”

Molinaro will get the chance to compete in her native Italy next when the FIA European Rally Championship resumes on Rally di Roma Capitale from 15-17 September.
