Team-mates since 2009, four-time Polish champions and FIA European Rally Championship record-breakers, the ace Poles announced earlier today that their run to victory on Rajd Barbórka last December would be their last event side by side.

A joint statement from the LOTOS Rally Team pair read: “Our cooperation, based on enormous mutual trust, has lasted for nine years. We have shared great success, plenty of exciting sports moments and unforgettable memories.

“The two of us won together everything we had dreamt about. Perhaps even more. We took part in 80 rallies, winning 31 of them and scoring over 50 podium finishes. Our stage wins’ tally in both Polish and European championships reached 308 victories. We won four Polish titles overall. Last year, as the first crew in history, we scored our third consecutive European Rally Championship title.

“We have harmoniously taken many decisions over the years. The last one is to commence further, new challenges which will be taken separately by each of us. We thank everyone: our partners, journalists, fans, friends, our nearest and dearest for their support, goodwill, kind words and cheering. For their faith in our skills and for encouraging us to progress relentlessly.

“We hope that the times of our sports cooperation, which are already left behind us, will remain in your memory as exceptional in Polish and European rally history.”
