Emil Bergkvist, the ERC Junior champion of 2015, has added another significant title to his impressive haul, becoming World Junior champion with class victory in Turkey last weekend.
Bergkvist, from Sweden, graduated to world level after capturing the FIA European Rally Championship’s ERC Junior crown.

For this year, he entered the M-Sport Poland-run Junior world championship and took the top prize – a Ford Fiesta R5 plus a tyre package from Pirelli – following a consistently-strong campaign.

“This is unbelievable and I am so happy,” said Bergkvist, who won the ERC Junior title as part of the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team line-up. “Everything has been amazing and I want to thank everyone who made it possible. I have no words for this and I am just so excited. To think that this Ford Fiesta R5 is now mine is a little bit unreal and I think it will take some time to realise what has happened and what we have achieved.”

Meanwhile, the ERC Junior Under 27 and ERC Junior Under 28 titles both remain up for grabs with two events remaining, starting with this week’s PZM Rally Poland (21-23 September).
