Sindre Furuseth says battling for the FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship lead on Rally di Roma Capitale has left him “encouraged” ahead of his second appearance in the Pirelli-supported category in Czech Republic from 24-26 August.
Norwegian Furuseth was in the victory fight in Italy when a mechanical failure forced his exit on the opening day of the event. Boosted by that performance and experience gained by competing on Barum Czech Rally Zlín in 2017, Furuseth is full of optimism.
“First of all I think our speed in Rome before the retirement was very encouraging,” said Furuseth, whose Opel ADAM R2 is co-driven by Jim Hjerpe. “I know Zlín is a different rally where we need to find a new set-up, so our preparations are key if we want to fight for the win. That said, I think that the win is a realistic goal for us [based on] what we showed in Rome, so we will go all-in to try and make that happen."
