Nikolay Gryazin underlined his status as a contender for victory on Barum Czech Rally Zlín later this month following a standout warm-up win in Poland last weekend.
One year on from crashing out of Rally Rzeszow when the event formed part of the FIA European Rally Championship schedule, there were no such problems this time for Gryazin and co-driver Yaroslav Fedorov. They they went fastest on eight out of 11 stages in their Sports Racing Technologies ŠKODA Fabia R5 and headed ERC regular and Rzeszow resident Grzegorz Grzyb by almost 90 seconds.
As well as chasing outright success in Zlín, Russian Gryazin will be a favourite for ERC Junior Under 28 Championship glory. The all-asphalt event takes place from 24-26 August.
