Chris Ingram has withdrawn from Rally Islas Canarias, round two of the FIA European Rally Championship, on medical grounds.
Ingram, who won the ERC Junior Under 28 category on the season-opening Azores Airlines Rallye after claiming the ERC Junior Under 27 title in 2017, had complained of feeling unwell since the start of the event.
Despite attempting to complete this morning’s loop of stages in his Toksport WRT ŠKODA Fabia R5, he felt it was unsafe to continue further and returned to service in Las Palmas ahead of schedule.
He will fly back to his native UK for medical checks with the aim of being fully fit for his next planned ERC appearance.
