New sponsor and Acropolis start for Greek ERC counter

The Greek round of the FIA European Rally Championship will get a new title sponsor and start under the ancient Acropolis of Athens citadel as part of exciting plans for 2018.

Counting as the third event of the all-action ERC season from 1-3 June, the legendary gravel contest will be known as the EKO Acropolis Rally in deference to support from the petrol station network.

During a press conference at Greece’s National Library located within the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Kallithéa, organisers confirmed the rally will be based in the university city of Lamia for a third year running, while route details would be announced in due course.
