Paulo Nobre has once again chosen the honour of running as the first FIA European Rally Championship competitor on the road during Rally Liepāja’s opening day.
Having finished 11th in the earlier Qualifying Stage on Friday, the Palmeirinha Rally pilot was the penultimate driver to select his road position for leg one, selecting first on the road ahead of ERC2 category frontrunner Sergei Remennik.

Conversely, ERC Junior Under 28 championship leader Nikolay Gryazin – who won the Qualifying Stage – used his first pick to select P12 in leg one’s road order. He is followed by the remaining top 10 fastest drivers from the Qualifying Stage in reverse order.

Sports Racing Technology driver Gryazin’s ERC Junior U28 title rivals Fabian Kreim and Chris Ingram will line up seventh and P10 in the road order, driving their respective ŠKODA AUTO Deutschland and Toksport WRT ŠKODA Fabia R5s.

All three will be under pressure from fellow ERC Junior U28s Filip Mareš (ACCR Czech Rally Team) and Fredrik Åhlin (CA1 Sport), who will start ninth and P11 for leg one thanks to their fourth and second fastest times on the Qualifying Stage.

FIA ERC action kicks off at 10h00 local time on Saturday, with Nobre heading into the opening Neste 1 (Pērbone) stage.
