Recently crowned FIA ERC Junior Under 27 champion* Mārtiņš Sesks kicked off his home rally in style, going fastest on Rally Liepāja’s Qualifying Stage amongst his Junior U27 rivals.
Sesks showed his fellow Juniors a clean set of heels, the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team talent beating fellow Opel ADAM R2 runner Sindre Furuseth by 2.6 seconds.
Behind second placed Furuseth, Miika Hokkanen threaded his Saintéloc Junior Team-prepared PEUGEOT 208 R2 through the Qualifying Stage for third fastest time, a mere 0.138s off Furuseth’s time.
Tom Kristensson was fourth fastest, with Kristóf Klausz completing the top five for his family Klaus Motorsport team.
Roland Stengg and Hokkanen’s Saintéloc team-mate Catie Munnings were sixth and seventh quickest in ERC Junior U27 respectively, while Emma Falcón drove her GC Motorsport-run 208 R2 to the eighth fastest time in ERC3.
Mattia Vita did not participate in the Qualifying Stage, having damaged his car in Free Practice 1 after hitting a tree.
