The Mikołajki resort in the picturesque Masurian lake district will host Rally Poland for the 15th time next June, with fans set to benefit from the earlier scheduling.
Subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval, the PZM 76thRally Poland will form part of the FIA European Rally Championship calendar in 2019 as the fourth event of the all-action season and the third to take place on gravel stages.

It will mean a return to the event’s more traditional June date, which organisers hope will appeal to fans after the rally occupied a late September slot this year.

Michał Sikora, President of Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation said: “We are very pleased that Rally Poland gained the recognition of the FIA and the ERC promoter again. Our classic event has been on the calendar of the most important rally championships in the world and in Europe for decades. Few countries can boast an event of such tradition and standard as our Rally Poland, which we will carry out for the 76thtime next year.

“Many years of experience of Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and club members from around the country have resulted in a high level of organisation of the rally, which was emphasised this year by competitors, FIA representatives and the ERC promoter. We naturally strive to make the event even more attractive, including for the fans. That is why we decided to run the next year's rally at the end of June. Several previous editions of Rally Poland, held at that time, showed that it was a date more in line with the expectations of rally fans.”

Sikora also confirmed the event will count for Polish championship points, while 70 per cent of this year’s route will feature in 2019, adding: “We can always count on very good cooperation with local authorities [in Mikołajki].”

The 2019 ERC calendar will be presented to the FIA World Motor Sport Council for ratification when it meets in St Petersburg, Russia, on 5 December.
