Superstock teams are putting on quite a show in the front ranks of the race 5 hours from the finish. Gert56 leads the class in 7th place, ahead of Webike Tati Team Trick Star and No Limits Motor Team.
Gert56 is steaming ahead as leader of the Superstock class in 7th place 5 hours from the finish of the Bol d’Or.
The BMW-mounted German team with a rider trio comprising Julian Puffe, Stefan Kerschbaumer and Filip Altendorfer has been in the Top 10 since the start of the race. Team 33 Coyote Louit Moto and Junior Team Le Mans Sud Suzuki battled for the Superstock lead in the early stages, but Team 33 Coyote Louit Moto dropped in the rankings following engine problems with the squad’s Kawasaki, while Junior Team Le Mans Sud Suzuki lost ground after a crash.
Gert56 has so far managed to stay ahead of Webike Tati Team Trick Star. But the Kawasaki-mounted Franco-Japanese team’s riders Julien Enjolras, Kevin Denis and Osamu Deguchi are doggedly attempting to close the gap, and we could well see a fierce duel in the Superstock class in the finishing stages of the race.
No Limits Motor Team is the likeliest contender for the third step of the Superstock podium. It has been a long haul for the Italian team on Suzuki: they plunged to beyond 40th place shortly after starting the race in the Top 20 as a result of brake problems. Eddy Dupuy, Luca Scassa and Michael Mazzina have been pushing hard ever since to stage a comeback and put the Suzuki #44 on the Superstock podium.
Currently 3 laps behind No Limits Motor Team, Junior Team Le Mans Sud Suzuki’s riders Hugo Clère, Alex Sarrabayrouse and Louis Rossi are still hoping for a podium finish despite a crash during the night.
Wójcik Racing Team on their Superstock Yamaha #777 are pulling off a great performance for their FIM EWC debut. Having started the race from 31st on the grid, the team, now lapping in 15th place, is the 5th Superstock 5 hours from the finish.
