Bertrand Sebileau has passed away

A journalist and road tester with French magazine Moto Journal, Bertrand Sebileau became a Kawasaki factory rider in the late 1990s. He won two consecutive victories at the 24 Heures Motos wearing the brand’s colours: in 1998 with Thierry Paillot and Igor Jerman and in 1999 with Steve Hislop and Chris Walker. In 2000, he took the second step of the podium at the Bol d’Or with Igor Jerman and Ludovic Holon, also on the Kawasaki ZX-7RR.

Nicknamed ‘Fast Sebil’ by his colleagues at Moto Journal and later by his rivals on the track, Bertrand Sebileau had withdrawn from racing in 2004 following a serious motorcycle accident.
