Swiss team Bolliger will be at the 24 Heures Motos with a rejigged – and cosmopolitan – line-up. The team’s mainstay Roman Stamm has said Le Mans will be his last FIM EWC race.
Bolliger Team Switzerland, who were out on track during the private test at Le Mans in mid-July, have put together a new line-up for the next FIM EWC race – the 24 Heures Motos on the Bugatti circuit on 29 and 30 August.
Roman Stamm, the Swiss rider who has been with Bolliger Team Switzerland since 2002, has decided to hang up his leathers after this year’s 24 Heures Motos. He will ride the Kawasaki #8 Bolliger one last time at Le Mans alongside those taking over the reins: Dutch rider Nigel Walraven and German rider Jan Bühn. 20-year-old Swede Jesper Pellijeff, the Swedish Superbike champion, will be the team’s backup rider.
The staff is also in the handover phase. Kevin, the son of Hanspeter Bollinger – the founder of this historic endurance world championship team – is increasingly taking over the day-to-day management. Together with Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, Bolliger Team Switzerland are one of the oldest teams competing in the FIM EWC.
Thanks to an agreement with the Pirelli importer in Germany, Bolliger Team Switzerland, who have a long-established partnership with the Italian manufacturer, will once again be using Pirelli tyres at the 2020 24 Heures Motos.
