Monegasque team GSM Racing have lined up a new all-Italian rider trio for the forthcoming 2018-2019 FIM EWC races.
After streamlining their structure, GSM Racing have just presented their new rider trio in Monte Carlo for the forthcoming FIM EWC races. The Monegasque squad managed by Andrea Grillini are racing their first FIM EWC season following several years in the Superbike World Championship.
Starting from the 24 Heures Motos this coming April, the Suzuki GSM Racing #62 will be entrusted to Stefano Fugardi, an Italian rider who was part of the GSM Racing line-up at the 2018 Bol d’Or. He will partner with two fellow Italians – the Napoli brothers Federico and Christian, who raced for Aviobike in last season’s Endurance championship.
So a 100% Italian line-up will be on the starting grid of the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans on 20 April.
‘This is our first season racing the EWC,’ says GSM Racing team manager Andrea Grillini, ‘and it will certainly be an exciting experience. It’s a very intense championship, even though it consists of only five races. The Bol d’Or was a fantastic experience. I’m absolutely sure that the EWC, which is still relatively unknown in some countries, will become a major championship in the future.’
