Team SRC Kawasaki France had their first outing on the track for 2019 in Spain, at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo, and are gearing up to retaliate after their difficulties at the Bol d’Or.
Jérémy Guarnoni, David Checa and Erwan Nigon, Team SRC Kawasaki France’s new rider trio, got together at the Valencia circuit right from the first week of January for a three-day winter test.
Our return to the track went off smoothly,’ says Gilles Stafler, the team manager of the factory-backed squad. ‘We haven’t yet received the new kit parts, but our priority is also to rack up mileage in order to test the reliability of the new 2019 Kawasaki engine. The stock ZX-10R equipped with our 2018 injection is showing good potential. We’re already matching the fastest times in the Spanish CEV Championship, so that’s promising. Erwan Nigan adapted to the bike and the tyres very quickly. He’s a fast learner, and he found his feet both on the track and with the rest of the team right away.
Team SRC Kawasaki France are seeking retaliation after experiencing a problematic start to the season at the Bol d’Or last September. The Kawasaki #11 was in the lead a few hours from the finish, but ended up in 7th place due to technical issues towards the end of the race.
