If ever the score didn't tell the story, that was it. Tunisia played brilliantly and missed a tournament's worth of chances, but took none of them, and Senegal become the first side to win a game at AFCON 2017.

Nagguez down the left and he curls in a great cross that Khenissi heads wide. Dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Tunisia have kept at this with invigorating stubbornness, Khenisi looking to find a shooting angle on the left of the box, but robbed by Koulibaly.

There shall be four additional minutes.

Finally Tunisia have the ball in the net, Msakni and Sliti combine beautifully for the latter to send the former through - he cracks a low finish into the far side-netting, but had strayed offside.

Tunisia send men forward and Sliti, who's been excellent, tries to slide a ball into the path of Khenisi, but M'Bengue manages to intercept.

Kouyate departs, after he's hugged one and all, replaced by Pape Kouly Diop.

Koulibaly and Kara - Gassama and M'Bengue too - have been led a merry dance tonight. That said, the way Tunisia have passed and moved through the midfield intended to protect them is also worthy of note.

    Tunisia are still at it.

What with al this wittering about finishing, I should say that Diallo has had a good game, whether by accident or design. Not sure he's known all that much about some of his saves, but he's put himself in the right places.

It's a long time since I've seen a team create as many good chances with as much good football, then take none of them. Well, since Man United played Burnley, anyway.

My days, poor ole Tunisia. Some lovely passing ends with Sliti moving in off the right and sliding a delicate reverse-ball just a few yards that puts Msakni in; he thunks a low shot against the legs of Diallo. This is really ridiculous now.

Tunisia might just have given up. And I don't mean checked out, just that they know they're going to lose despite everything they've done to not lose.

This has been a really ballsy performance from Tunisia. This group is going to be very tight.

Change for Senegal, Saivet on for N'Diaye.

Oh man! Tunisia win a corner down the right after Kara heads behind, knocked short by Sliti to Maaloul. He looks a good player, and what a cross he sends in - though quite what's going on with the marking, who knows. Because Abdennour and Ben Yousef are both up, the latter heading down and wide with the net gaping.

Oh my! Khazri charges through the middle and eventually the ball breaks to him, but Koulibaly slides in and it squirts loose, so Kara looks to clear, instead slicing amazingly ineptly against his own post!

After a brilliant passage of play, it's gone a little quiet.
