Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano sidelined for a month with hamstring injury
Javier Mascherano will be sidelined for a month with a hamstring injury, Barcelona have announced.
The La Liga leaders said the 33-year-old defender suffered the setback on international duty after playing the full 90 minutes of Argentina's 4-2 defeat to Nigeria on Tuesday.
A statement on Barcelona's website read: "Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano has suffered an injury to his right hamstring, the club confirmed on Wednesday following medical tests carried out at the team's training centre.
"The 33-year-old Argentinian was hurt during Tuesday night's international friendly against Nigeria.
"Mascherano is expected to be out for around four weeks."

Mascherano is set to miss up to four league games - including the trip to second-placed Valencia on November 26 - as well as Champions League clashes at Juventus and at home to Sporting Lisbon.
