Bayern Munich crushed Dortmund 5-1 at the Allianz Arena with two goals apiece for Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller.
Dortmund started brightly, and for the opening stages of the match things were evenly balanced. Bayern took the lead with a prosaic long ball which Muller took around Roman Burki swiftly and finished calmy.
Bayern made it two when Muller converted a penalty won when Henrikh Mkhitaryan tripped Thiago in the box, and it seemed the match was finished. Dortmund hit back almost instantly when Patrick Aubameyang tapped in from a Gonzalo Castro cross at the back post.
In the second half, Robert Lewandowski rounded the 'keeper after 22 seconds, and before the hour mark he and former Dortmund man Mario Gotze combined for his second.
Gotze then had a goal of his own after strolling into the box, swapping passes with Thiago and placing a low shot into the bottom corner of the goal but by that point Dortmund were already well beaten.

KEY STATS
Bayern Munich have scored five times in four matches this season.
Thomas Muller already has nine goals this season.
TALKING POINT
Can Bayern Munich stay ready for Europe if they win the Bundesliga by winter? There's no challenge for Bayern in Germany. Their finance, manager and players ensure that they will have no real rival but their own complacency in the league. Assuming they can negotiate that, will the sheer lack of competition they face hinder them when they face more accomplished sides later in the Champions League?
MAN OF THE MATCH
Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich): He's not especially fast, elegant, strong or tall, but he just keeps scoring. It was a simple long ball and a penalty that gave him and his side the first two goals of the game - and there appears no hint that his ability to be in the right place is going to wane.
