Both sides continue to press for a later winner and it's so open that it feels like one will come.
Gladbach's manager Hutter has been booked for his protests at the non-penalty.
NO PENALTY! Thuram looked to have been pulled down in the area by Upamecano but the referee is having none of it and feels the Frenchman dived. VAR was in agreement with the official and it's good refereeing from Marco Fritz.
- OffThomas MüllerFC Bayern Munich
- OnEric Maxim Choupo-MotingFC Bayern Munich
Another good chance for Gladbach, Lainer's pass fails to find Stindl this time. We've gone to VAR though as Thuram claims he was pulled down in the box just before the ball was played in, but we play on. SUBS! Choupo-Moting is on for Muller and Sarr is on for Stanisic.
Neuhaus is down with cramp now but he should be fine to play on.
BIG CHANCE! The goal is gaping for Thuram, but he just cannot get a touch onto Lainer's deadly pass across the goalmouth! That could have been the decider!

- OffAlassane PléaBorussia M’gladbach
- OnMarcus ThuramBorussia M’gladbach
OUCH! Kramer is down in some pain on the pitch and Bayern immediately put the ball out of play. It looks to be a calf problem. Interestingly former Bayern boss Hansi Flick, now manager of the Germany national team, is watching on from the stands this evening.
- OffPatrick HerrmannBorussia M’gladbach
- OnJonas HofmannBorussia M’gladbach
Kimmich's corner finds Upamecano, but he glances his header wide. SUBS! For Gladbach, Hofmann is on for Herrmann while Thuram is on for Plea.
The holes are getting bigger in the Gladbach defence and Bayern just keep on pushing higher up the pitch. Sane's cross into the goalmouth deflects behind for a corner.
WHAT A SAVE! Davies surges down the left flank and cuts it back to Lewandowski. The striker gets a low well placed strike on goal but Sommer makes a phenomenal save with his right boot to send it out over his own crossbar for a corner! Heroic from Sommer!

YELLOW! Stindl slides into Kimmich, catching him late, which the Bayern defender was not happy about, and the Gladbach attacking midfielder picks up the game's first yellow card.

- End of 1st Half
We go into the break level after a breathless first half. Gladbach started the better side with Plea capitalising on Bayern's rustiness, but the champions grew into the game and Lewandowski grabbed a deserved equaliser. Second half coming up!
ONE minute of added time at the end of the first half.
Davies slides in to stop Lainer from getting a cross in and now Gladbach have a corner. Herrmann's cross is headed clear by Sule.
- GoalRobert LewandowskiFC Bayern Munich
GOAL!!! Who else but Robert Lewandowski! The corner swung in by Kimmich is swept home on the volley at the near post by the clinical Pole. We are level!
SHOT! It's another opening for Stanisic who fires a first-time effort on goal, it was going well wide and it smashes off Neuhaus for a Bayern corner.
Scally goes down holding his ankle after winning a challenge against Lewandowski. It looked a nasty one but fortunately the American can shake it off.
SAVE! It's a fine passing move from Bayern as Sane flicks the ball to Goretzka who then lays it off to Stanisic, but the right-back's strike is straight at Sommer who can make an important stop.
Bayern are pressing for an equaliser but Gladbach are holding firm. The hosts will want at least a bit more ball retention right now though. They're almost camped outside their own box.
This time the corner is nervously punched in the air by Sommer before it's flicked towards goal by Goretzka, bounces off the feet of Muller then out for a goal kick despite the Bayern protests.

SHOT! Stindl attempts a speculative long range effort to try and catch Neuer off his line but it floats over the bar. It wasn't a bad idea!
Gladbach have taken their foot off the gas a bit and Bayern are getting back to their old self. This game looks set to have at least a few more goals.
WHAT A SAVE! Davies' lofted ball over the top of the entire Gladbach backline finds Lewandowski. From point-blank range, he pokes a shot on goal but Sommer makes a fine stop!
CHANCE! Herrmann crosses the free-kick into the box and it's unconvincingly cleared by Upamecano before Elvedi lashes a shot on goal from close range which he drags wide. Bayern look very disorganised and quite simply rusty.
Herrmann attempts to skip by Davies but the Canadian, who has not got going in this game, trips him up as he cuts inside. It's a free-kick in a dangerous position for Gladbach on the edge of the box.
Bayern look a bit more composed at the back now and are playing with more fluidity, but as Gladbach have already shown they can pounce at any moment. Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn does not look a happy man up in the stands.
Here is that opening goal from Plea.
BIG SAVE! Muller tees up Lewandowski in the box with a nodded pass back, but the Pole slips and gets a tame volley away which Sommer gets down to gather.
Bayern's passing has been sloppy so far and Gladbach look slightly more clinical and up for this. Gnabry surges into the Gladbach box but he is outmuscled by Ginter and the hosts clear their lines.
- GoalAlassane PléaBorussia M’gladbach
GOAL FOR GLADBACH! Well well well Gladbach lead and it's fully deserved! Plea fires Gladbach in front! It starts with Davies running into a cul-de-sac. It's a dream start for Gladbach against the record champions!
It's a big evening for 18-year-old left back Scally up against Leroy Sane. Sane sprints down the right flank but the Gladbach defender makes an important clearance.
Bayern's new centre back pairing of Sule and Upamecano have shown signs of early nerves in front of a very loud Gladbach support... BIG CHANCE MISSED! Neuhaus slots the ball into Herrmann. He closes in on goal with Stindl and passes to his teammate, but the pass is too slow and Stanisic makes a vital sliding interception which Neuer prods away with his feet! It's been all Gladbach so far!
