83'

Malen is down after a potential stamping incident. The Yellow Wall aren't happy, but it was unintentional and the game restarts.

80'

It's all Dortmund here. Malen is getting involved; running the channels and working hard to create space for his striking partner Haaland.

GOAL! Haaland, is he on? He's in, he scores! Flag is up... here's the check...

69'

Hasebe is replaced by Ivan Hrustic.

67'

It's still all Dortmund here. Frankfurt are just trying to keep the score respectable at this rate.

64'

Really fancy and neat interplay from Dortmund on the edge of the Frankfurt box, and a cute flick around the corner from Reus tries gets away from Haaland as he prepared to pull the trigger.

62'

Sow chops down Reus, and it's a free kick in a dangerous area for the hosts. Reus and Akanji are over it, and the centre back goes for it! But it's over,

  • Giovanni Reyna
GoalGiovanni ReynaBorussia DortmundGOAL! It's bouncing and ricocheting everywhere in the Frankfurt box, and it falls for Reyna! He's bundled it in, but is he offside? The flag is up... but they're checking it... and it stands! It's four.

GOAL! It's bouncing and ricocheting everywhere in the Frankfurt box, and it falls for Reyna! He's bundled it in, but is he offside? The flag is up... but they're checking it... and it stands! It's four.

55'

Tempting ball from Kostic, for Borre! Unlucky, it was a difficult chance and took difficult technique to get it right.

54'

Hazard dinks the free kick to the back post for Reus who's waiting... and he takes the ball down well, before shanking the shot high and wide off the left boot.

52'

Passlack breathes a huge sigh of relief as his underhit backpass just evades Borre, and Korbel smashes it to safety.

50'

Bellingham, Reyna! They just get in the way of each other as both look to pull the trigger in the Frankfurt box!

49'

Well worked down the left from Dortmund, Schulz. finds Reus... Haaland, surely! No! It stays at 3.

47'

It's a switch of system for the visitors - they've gone to a back four... and it almost pays dividends, as Borre nearly nods Kostic's fizzed ball home! Great save by Korbel.

45'

Away we go again.

45'

Barkok, Ilsanker and Kamada are all off.

45'

Chris Lenz, Jesper Lindstrom and Jens Petter Hauge all coming on.

45'

We're back for another 45. But first, three changes to tell you about from the visitors:

45'

There's half time. A breathless first half filled with action; we'll be right back.

44'

More nerves are being shown here by Frankfurt. Dortmund have their heads screwed on. They want one more before half time. Two additonal minutes.

42'

NO! The whole of the ball crossed the line before Trapp made contact, and the corner is given instead. Trapp's blushes are spared, and the score remains at 3-1.

40'

GOALLLL!!! It's four! Reus at the double! A horror moment for Kevin Trapp, as he tries to save the ball from going for a corner, but upon pawing it away from the byline, he can only parry into the path of Reus, who steers home from a tight angle,

39'

Bellingham and Ilsanker collide, leaving the former Birmingham midfield crumpled in a heap on the floor, in pain. He's on his feet now, and Trapp will take the free kick that went the way of the visitors.

36'

CLOSE! Haaland snakes his way around Kostic and Hasebe, and feeds Schulz! His shot is well saved by Trapp, but should he have squared it?

  • Erling Haaland
GoalErling HaalandBorussia DortmundGOAL!!!! There's three! And guess who? Erling Haaland gets in on the act. Slipped through by a flicked Reus header, and he toes it ahead of the dawdling Ilsanker and charging down on Trapp's goal, finishing in style.

30'

Half an hour gone, and Dortmund are pegged back here. Frankfurt have had a shot of confidence after their fluky equaliser, putting some nice passing patterns together, and Sow's run is a clever run as he tries to link up with Borre, but he is stunted by the offside flag.

  • Felix Passlack
Own-goalFelix PasslackBorussia DortmundGOAL! Ohhhh! There's one we weren't expecting! Frankfurt are level, and it's an own goal! Ball is won high up the field by da Costa and Hasebe, and now the visitors can play... da Costa again, chance to cross... he's shanked it behind.

  • Marco Reus

GOAL! And there's the opener! Marco Reus slots Dortmund ahead, a fluid counter attack after Bellingham won the ball, Hasebe tried to hack down the onrushing Haaland, who found his captain Reus, who finished with aplomb. 1-0.

22'

da Costa has started well down the right for Frankfurt. He's been an unsung hero thus far marshalling the threat of Gio Reyna.

19'

Corner, Dortmund. Won after a sliding challenge by Stefan Ilsanker on Marco Reus, although the ball was adjudged to have touched the Dortmund man last! Nothing doing from the set play though, as Witsel clumsily gives away the free kick.

17'

The ball deflects fortuitously for Reyna and as he shapes to lob the onrushing Trapp, Ilsanker steals in and turns it behind for the corner. Great defending.

15'

Dahoud drives out nicely again from the middle of midfield, and Haaland drags the shot wide after being fed down the left channel.

14'

Kamada turns Witsel inside out, and wins the corner off Passlack. Danger here for Dortmund from the resulting set piece... and it's cleared by Passlack, charged down by Hazard, but Kostic retains possession for the visitors.

12'

After an initially good tackle in the corner by Kostic on Hazard, Dortmund find the ball in the Frankfurt box - and after a game of ricochet, it bounces to safety.

10'

We haven't really seen either side explode into life in these opening 10 minutes. Dortmund are on the front foot, probing, trying to find those pockets in the half spaces for Reus, Reyna and Hazard to exploit, and Bellingham is getting plenty of possession in the engine room as die Gelbschwarzen dominate the ball.

8'

Nice break here from Dortmund, Dahoud... Bellingham... Hazard... Haaland! He can't quite poke it in on the slide and Frankfurt survive.

7'

Dortmund are very much comfortable here in the early excnanges. Dahoud is operating in possession as a lone six with Reyna, Reus, Hazard and Bellingham interchanging positions in front of him, and Haaland is busy occupying the three centre halves.

5'

Cleared well by Barkok.

4'

A lovely ball down the flank from Passlack towards Hazard, who wins the corner off Ilsanker.

3'

We see the first touches of the ball for Rafa Santos Borre. Good close control, under close attentions from Akanji.

1'

Incredible intensity right from the get go, as Reyna's darting run early is curtailed by a foul by Moussa Sow. Reus is over the free kick, takes it quickly towards Haaland, and da Costa does well to distract him.

1'

Off we go!

17:29

The teams are out. How will Dortmund fare in their first game post-Sancho?

17:25

Five minutes to kick off.

17:23

Donyell Malen, Dortmund's new striker is one name to watch out for on the benches. Erik Durm returns to his old stomping ground on Frankfurt's.

17:22

The Yellow Wall descends its crescendo of noise onto the Signal Iduna Park. The stage is set.

17:20

The excitement is buidling. 10 minutes to go.

17:10

20 minutes to kick off.

17:01

It'll certainly be an interesting spectactle watching Rafael Santos Borre. Football Manager players will certainly have heard of him - a talented young starlet out of the River Plate youth system, he's come to Germany to try and make his mark on the continent and secure himself a bigger move within three years. What can the Colombian muster up to prove he can kick it with the best in the business? He's got the stage tonight to show Haaland what he's all about.

17:00

Frankfurt: Trapp, Hasebe, Hinteregger, Ndicka, Da Costa, Sow, Ilsanker, Kostic, Barkok, Kamada, Borre.

16:59

Dortmund: Kobel, Passlack, Akanji, Witsel, Schulz, Dahoud, Bellingham, Reyna, Reus, Hazard, Haaland.

16:59

Here are the teams once more, just in case you've joined us late...

16:57
16:55
16:51

Stefan Ilsanker will presumaby be the anchor screening the Frankfurt backline, and he will be the man tasked with following Marco Reus and shadowing him in the tight pockets of space between the lines.

16:47

First and foremost, we must consider how Frankfurt are to deal with the threat of Erling Haaland - they've got three central defenders there to marshal one striker - but when that one striker is arguably the best in Europe, there is still real cause for concern. Hinteregger in the centre of the defensive trident will be the one usually that follows the young Norwegian, but it'll be up to Ndicka predominantly to use his pace covering in behind his slower team-mate.

16:47

What will the key battles be out there today?

16:43
16:42
16:40
16:38

For Frankfurt, its a back three for them: Evan Ndicka partnering up with Martin Hinteregger and Hasebe, whilst Rafael Santos Borre gets his first start up front. Stefan Ilsanker will look to screen the defence with Messrs Sow and Barkok, with Filip Kostic and Danny da Costa providing the width from wing-back.

16:34

Dortmund start the new season in a 4-2-3-1 shape one would assume: Felix Passlack and Nico Schulz the full-backs, behind wide forwards Thorgan Hazard and Giovanni Reyna. Erling Haaland leads the line, in front of a midfield trio of Jude Bellingham and Mo Dahoud as the shuttlers, with Marco Reus as the ten. Manuel Akanji and Axel Witsel as it seems will play at centre-back.

16:33

Let's dissect these teams, shall we?

16:32

And here is the Frankfurt side:

16:31

Here are our hosts:
