Madrid slide the ball from side to side and Wolfsburg drop deep to wind them up. Schurrle is more or less playing in midfield - while looking like a McChicken Nugget, of course.

Benzema appears to be on the left at the moment, with Ronaldo through the middle, and they attempt and attack before Wolfsburg break with Bruno Henrique. They muster to the edge of the Madrid box, before Casemiro intervenes.

Wonder if Wolfsburg would take a 0-0 here - that'd give them a serious shot in the return, and plenty of space to break into. Or, put another way, the away goal rule is a nonsense; one goal should equal one goal, done and done.

Gosh, there's a warmer for Wolsburg right there. Nipping across the face off the goal from left to right, Benzema clipped a delicious reverse-pass into the stride of Ronaldo, who finished with typical clarity. But - wait for it - his head was offside. Sometimes, they just write themselves.

Just when you thought yeah, it'd be nice if Wolfsburg won this, there they are huddling away.
"Shall we win?"
"Yes."

"Wolfsburg and Real Madrid have never shaken hands before" - but perhaps they've given dap.

And here they come, as Peter Drury launches into hyperbole. I wonder if he converses in this manner in real life.

The players are tunnelled and tracksuited.

Who wasn't wondering?

BT are showing some snatches of Julian Draxler, and I hate myself for wondering this, but: I wonder if he'll ever be reliable enough to end up at a SUPERCLUB. I suppose Wolfsburg aren't exactly yer local proivncial minnow, but even so.

Football is funny and footballers are funny, mainly because people are funny. So, Madrid limped to a win over a Barcelona side that may never again play as badly - but it doesn't matter because, suddenly, they believe. And when that's so of players of that ilk, people had best watch out.
19:05
Wolfsburg, welcome back the excellent name and very good player, Bas Dost back to the squad - he has recovered from an injury sustatined during the winter break.
19:00
Zinedine Zidane picks a predictable eleven, with the defensive Casemiro partnering Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in a midfield three, and Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in attack.

Ahead of the match today, watch a video concerning a transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
