The footballing world was stunned by Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible bicycle kick against Juventus.
Many believed it was the greatest Champions League goal of all time, while even the Italian club’s fans stood to applaud the forward. Everyone was impressed by the feat.
Apart from one man. And no prizes for guessing who.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, fresh from scoring a screamer for LA Galaxy over the weekend, had a cheeky response to the Real Madrid star’s effort, which helped seal a 3-0 win in Turin.
When asked about the effort, he told ESPN SportsCenter, apparently in reference to his strike against England in 2012:
It was a nice goal, but he should try it from 40 metres.
And just for good measure, when discussing his heroics for Galaxy and helping them turn around a 3-0 deficit against LAFC, he said: "I mean I’m still jetlagged. I’ve been here for four days, trying to pass the days with energy as much as possible but it hasn’t been easy.
"But people approaching me and saying, 'Welcome to LA, it was a crazy goal, it was a crazy game' and all positive things so I just feel happy and welcome."
