FT: Real Madrid 3-1 PSG. It wasn't easy, but it is advantage Real after this first leg. PSG were well in this at 1-1, but the introduction of Asensio changed the game. Ronaldo became the first man to reach 100 Champions League goals for one club, too. Full report and reaction to follow on site. Goodnight.

CLOSE! Neymar gets on the end of a cross from Meunier, but he cannot find the target, Big chance.

Amidst all the action, Julian Draxler came on for Lo Celso.

Could well be...

Yellow card for Meunier as he hauls Asensio down. Three minutes of added time here.

CHANCE! Mbappe has the chance to reduce the arrears as he's played in behind the Real Madrid defence but Navas gets down low at the near post to thwart his effort.

Three minutes and 23 seconds between the goals - strikes that could earn Zinedine Zidane a stay of execution. Asensio again with the assist, he pulled it back for Marcelo, the full-back didn't connect cleanly, but a little deflection off Marquinhos took it into the net.

GOOOOALLLL! Real Madrid 3-1 PSG. In the blink of an eye, the holders have taken a stranglehold of this tie, with Marcelo netting a third.

It had to be him, didn't it. Asensio drills the cross into the middle, Areola gets hand to it, pushes the ball onto the knee of Ronaldo, only to see it rebound into the net. A poacher's goal.

GOOOOOOAAAALLLL! Real Madrid 2-1 PSG. In somewhat fortuitous fashion, Ronaldo is there to put Real in front.

There have been worse ideas...

Final roll of the dice from Zidane as he throws on Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio in place of Casemiro and Isco.

Nacho is the next to go into the book for a foul on that man Neymar.

CLOSE! Agonisingly close from Berchiche, as he drills the ball across the face of goal, just out of Alves' reach.

Mbappe goes for a rabona, but gets it all wrong. He is human after all.

Another swift break from PSG, Alves feeds Mbappe, but his pull-back is cut out. From the resulting corner, Real just about get the ball clear after a mini-scramble in the box.

Great change of pace from Neymar, but his final pass is again overhit.

Very nervous feel around the Bernabeu. Next goal not just crucial in this match, but the whole tie

One change each here, as Gareth Bale comes on for the hosts, replacing Benzema. Thomas Meunier comes on for Cavani for PSG.

Rabiot is furious. He doesn't seem to even touch Modric, but he is cautioned for a foul nonetheless.

LUCKY BOY? Neymar goes down under challenge from Casemiro, nothing given. Should he have received a booking for simulation?

Great low cross from Isco, but Areola is down smartly to gather.

Bloomin’ remarkable

Nacho and Isco combine on the right before Isco threads Ronaldo into acres of space behind the high PSG defensive live. His attack is cut short by the offside flag, though, with the Portuguese adjudged to have strayed beyond the last defender.

Real Madrid go from front to back in an instant as Ronaldo races into space in the area on the overlap, but his near-post drive deflects behind for a corner, which comes to nothing

NO PENALTY! Great play from Alves, he pulls it back for Rabiot, who lashes a half-volley at goal, but Ramos is in the way. The PSG players are claiming handball, but nothing given.

Better possession from the visitors at the moment. They are looking most likely to get another.

Lo Celso again gives the ball away, but is fortunate that Isco is offside.

SAVE! Important stop from Navas. Neymar picks out Mbappe at the back post, he takes a touch, fires low, but Navas is down well to parry.

Neymar shows great feet to make space for the pass, he threads it through for Mbappe, but gets just too much on it.

We are back under way here. More of the same, please!

Cometh the hour...

HT: Real Madrid 1-1 PSG. Le Celso's foul proved costly as Real get themselves back in this right on the stroke of half time. Visitors have been comfortable in truth, but that goal could change everything.

Two minutes of added time at the end of the half.

GOOOOAL! Real Madrid 1-1 PSG. Ronaldo steps up to emphatically convert from the spot to net his 10th Champions League goal of the season. Game on!

PENALTY TO REAL! Kroos takes a tumble in the box to earn his side a penalty.

SAVE! Big save from Areola to deny Benzema from the edge of the box. Fine stop.

Varane has a very ambitious strike from distance, which is always heading well wide.

CHANCE! Super clipped cross from Modric into the middle, Areola gets a hand on it, but Nacho cannot steer the loose ball home.

CHANCE! PSG should be two to the good. Neymar carves his way through the Madrid defence before shipping the ball onto Cavani in the area. He swivels and shoots at goal but his strike deflects agonisingly wide of the target, and Real clear the resulting corner.

Don't write him off yet...

CHANCE! Ronaldo does really well to retrieve the ball after PSG were sloppy in possession, he drags the ball into space, goes for power, but that is always rising.

The goal really has knocked the stuffing out of Real. An away goal can really be the difference.

Out of nowhere, and the Parisiens are in front. Rabiot had all the time in the world to pick his spot. Where was his marker? Cross into the middle was aimed at Neymar, Nacho made the block, but Rabiot was on hand to sweep home the looseball.

GOOOOOOOAAAAL! Real Madrid 0-1 PSG. Huge, huge goal in this tie, as Adrien Rabiot steers the ball home. Advantage PSG.

Modric whips a cross into the middle, but it is blocked behind for a corner. Ramos gets up to meet the corner, but heads straight at Areola.

Wonderful, mazy run from Neymar, he cuts onto his right foot after sashaying past three men, but his shot is tame, and easy for Keylor Navas to gather in the Real goal.

SAVE! What a pass from Marcelo! Nobody saw what the Brazilian did. Ronaldo arrives onto it, takes a touch, but his fierce shot is blocked by Areola, with his face!

CLOSE! It was probably a little too close from there as Ronaldo goes for power and dip, but fires over the top.

Lo Celso gives the ball away, and in trying to retrieve it, he bundles Isco to the floor to concede a free-kick on the edge of the box. Yellow card.

Neymar slips, much to the amusement of all around. Not happening for him so far.

Imagine what he'd have on in Stoke this evening...

Game has fallen a little flat at the moment. Neither side can get their key men on the ball.

Cross from Isco is whipped into Ronaldo's direction, but the offside flag is up.

Neymar is then brought down in similar fashion by Luka Modric, but no card this time.

Neymar needlessly hacks at Nacho and earns himself the first yellow card of the game. Silly from the Brazilian.

Could well be...

Fantastic ball into the middle from Neymar, but Raphael Varane does superbly to get there before Cavani to make the block.

Marcelo seems to be fine to carry on. That PSG front three of Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Neymar very quiet so far.

Audible moans from all around as Marcelo takes a tumble. Seemed to land awkwardly.

Yuri Berchiche latches on to a Neymar threaded pass, but his cross-cum-shot fizzes well wide.

SAVE! Kroos has time and space after a short corner to line up the shot, curls for goal, but Alphonse Areola is equal to it. The parry isn't convincing though, leaving Marquinhos with a difficult clearance, which he just slices wide of his own goal.

Neymar takes a thwack in the middle of the park. Not the first big challenge he will face.

NO PENALTY! Relentless start from Real Madrid as they press high and don't give the visitors a second on the ball. Toni Kroos takes a tumble in the box, but the Italian referee waves away Real appeals for a penalty.

KICK OFF! We are up and running here in the Spanish capital. With so much attacking talent on show, it cannot fail to disappoint as spectacle, can it?

Time to make amends? Big-spending PSG memorably lost to Barcelona at the same stage last season, winning the first leg 4-0 before Neymar - now with the French club following a world record £198m move - inspired Barca to a 6-1 win in the return game. Real must be wary of a team with a huge point to prove, but with manager Zinedine Zidane under intense pressure, the Champions League can be his, and Real’s salvation. We are minutes away!

A real fall from grace...

He may have only netted a measly 11 league goals so far this season, but Cristiano Ronaldo has still produced the goods in Europe. In six Champions League group games, the Portugal captain fired nine strikes. PSG aren't exactly goal shy either. The French champions scored 25 goals in this season’s group stages, a record in the group phase of the competition. Can this game just start already?

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) face à la Real Sociedad.

No surprise who fronts this…

HEAD-TO-HEAD: PSG have eliminated Real Madrid in their two previous knockout encounters (1992/93 UEFA Cup, 1993/94 Cup Winners Cup), both times in the quarter-finals.

EMERY FULL OF SURPRISES! Yuri Berchiche and Giovani Lo Celso are surprise starters for PSG in the Bernabeu. Both Yuri and Lo Celso have started to work their way into the PSG set-up in recent weeks but it is still a huge surprise to see them both start, particularly the latter over Lassana Diarra

Looking pristine…

EMERY NO SHYING AWAY EITHER! The vastly experienced Thiago Silva is on the bench for PSG, with Presnel Kimpembe getting the nod in defence. Unai Emery makes a couple of changes following PSG’s 1-0 victory over Toulouse on Saturday. Marco Verratti returns to replace Lassana Diarra in midfield while Angel di Maria makes way for Edinson Cavani. Neymar, as you I'm sure you guessed, starts.

BIG CALL FROM ZIDANE! Isco starts ahead of Gareth Bale this evening for the host. The Welsh wizard is on the bench, should he be required. Zinedine Zidane makes three changes to the side which beat Real Sociedad 5-2 on Saturday. Nacho replaces the suspended Dani Carvajal in defence while Casemiro and Isco return in place of Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.

Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of what promises to be a titanic tussle between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last-16 first leg from the Bernabeu. The reigning champions have been in woeful form in La Liga, and trail leaders Barcelona by a colossal 17 points. Domestically, PSG have had no such trouble, and lead Ligue 1 by 12 points. However, with superstars aplenty of both sides, they start this encounter very much on an even keel. I'm Pete Hall, and I will be bringing you the action, as it happens, live!
