Spurs lost 4-3 on the night but triumphed via away goals on a chaotic night of football at the Etihad on Wednesday.
There was incredible late drama when Raheem Sterling thought he had sent City through in the dying seconds only for VAR to rule it out for offside.
Eriksen was the player who gave the ball away and he admitted afterwards that he thought it was all over at that moment before VAR sent his team through for a reunion with former side Ajax in the semi-finals.
"I must be one of the luckiest guys on the planet tonight," he said. "I thought it was all over but it was a fun game. It was a rollercoaster, we gave them a lot but also got a lot. It was a weird game.
"After today we take a deep breathe, it will be a fairytale to play them [Ajax] and fun to be back in the [Amsterdam] Arena again."
Son Heung-min scored twice for Spurs in an astonishing opening 11 minutes and he admitted that sometimes players can be frustrated by VAR but this was not one of those days.
"I have never seen something like this, It was tough and crazy but we are very proud of our team-mates. It was madness," he said.
Sometimes you are annoyed with VAR but today it is thank you. We fought together for 90 minutes. We showed unbelievable character and fight.
