Bayern Munich have confirmed that forward Kingsley Coman will be fit for the Bundesliga club’s Champions League clash against Liverpool.
The 22-year-old, who has made 11 league appearances for Bayern this season, was injured in the club’s Bundesliga clash with Augsburg on Friday, having scored twice during that match.
Speaking after the match, manager Niko Kovac said: “It doesn’t look good, we’ll have to investigate it tomorrow.”
However, in a statement on the club’s website on Saturday, the France international was given the all clear.
They said: "Kingsley Coman will be fit to face Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday… Following a thorough medical examination on Saturday morning, the club’s medical unit was able to give the all-clear.”
The statement added that Coman was a “likely starter” for the round-of-16 match.
The news will be a boost for Bayern who will be without an injured Arjen Robben and suspended Thomas Muller.
