FT: Atletico 2-0 Juventus. Gimenez and Godin do the damage late on for the Spanish side after they had been denied a penalty and seen a Morata goal disallowed by VAR. Juve and Ronaldo have it all to do in the second leg.
Ronaldo arrives at the far post to meet a deep cross, but can't quite stretch enough to get a header from a narrow angle on target.
It's all Juventus now, but Atletico are almost there.

It was this sort of night for Costa, but he was lively throughout his 57 minutes or so on the pitch. He'll be a miss in the second leg.
Pjanic with another sight of goal from just outside the box, but his effort is blocked to safety. From the resulting corner, Ronaldo climbs well but Oblak is out to punch to safety.

Ronaldo with a burst of speed of old. He surges into the left side of the area, beyond Gimenez, but can't get a shot away as Godin charges over to make a vital interception.

What a pass by this chap though.
That's a big miss. Costa rampages after Griezmann's sublime touch forward and races in on goal. He holds off Bonucci but drags his shot from just inside the area wide of target with just Szczesny to beat.
Jeers from the Atletico crowd as Ronaldo hammers a shot way off target from long range.
Ronaldo's cross from the left is headed into the path of Pjanic, who miscues his volley from the edge of the area. He had time and space to make a better connection with that too.

KICK OFF! Atletico restart this first leg.

HT: Atletico 0-0 Juventus. A lively half ends goalless after VAR overturned a decision to award Diego Costa a penalty for the hosts. The foul took place just outside the box.
Ronaldo had gone close with a thumping free kick early on for the visitors, while Costa and Partey have been booked meaning they will both miss the second leg.

Ronaldo hits the deck after a couple of tasty challenges from Saul and Juanfran on the left flank. The referee doesn't give what looked like a clear free kick. CR7 rolls around for a bit and then eventually gets up. He's fine.
Atletico fans still persisting with the whistling for Juve whenever they enjoy a decent spell of possession.
DID YOU KNOW? Juventus are searching for their first competitive victory over Atletico since the 1965 Fairs Cup semi-final second-leg replay. The sides met in the group stage of the 2014-15 CL, with the Old Lady losing one and drawing one.
Griezmann has a pop from a long way out and is fortunate to see a tame effort take a deflection and fly out for a corner.
From the resulting set piece, Rodrigo flashes a near post header well wide.
Dybala fizzes in a bouncing shot from 25 yards but it's easy enough for Oblak.

STAT: Griezmann has scored or assisted in each of his six Champions League matches at the Wanda Metropolitano (six goals and three assists).
Griezmann thunders a shot in from the resulting free kick, but Szczesny fists it behind. The corner then comes to nothing.
Costa chases a ball on the far left of the area and is caught by De Sciglio.
The referee points to the spot - but VAR is checked and a free kick is awarded instead.
Mandzukic rises well to meet Alex Sandro's cross, but can't guide his header on target.
These two have had the best two attempts so far.
A sustained period of Atletico pressure ends with Szczesny diving at the feet of Griezmann after the striker had threatened to get on the end of Koke's inventive back heel.
STAT: Dybala has snared six goals in his past seven Champions League matches. The forward had only notched five in his previous 24 outings with Juventus.
Many were anticipating a tight game of few chances and limited space for the forwards, but it's been very lively and open so far. Long may that continue!
Partey lets fly with a thumping first-time 25-yard drive that Szczesny does well to smother.
At the other end, De Sciglio senses the danger of Godin brilliantly and directs a header behind under pressure after Griezmann had looked for the Atletico defender's run with a probing free kick.
Bonucci should have scored - and it would have marked a milestone for him too. Still time of course...
Bonucci rises to meet a right-wing corner but thumps his free header over the top.
Ronaldo with another chance to take aim from distance, but this one takes a deflection and spins out for a corner.
Ronaldo eventually takes the kick and flashes in a venomous strike that Oblak is forced to push over the top of his crossbar.

First sighting of Ronaldo. He looks to take aim from 30-35 yards but is bundled over by Giménez. Free kick in CR7 territory.
Atletico surge at the Juve backline at speed once more. Griezmann looks to spring Costa free but his clipped ball into the middle is too close to Wojciech Szczesny.
Atletico continue their bright start by winning a corner on the right - but Partey has a nightmare as he curves his delivery behind. Very wasteful.
Griezmann spins on to a throw from the left and flashes over the top. However, he's caught by Matuidi in the follow-through.
Atletico surround the referee. He's not interested.

KICK OFF! Juventus get us underway.
STAT: Juventus have won four of their last five knockout stage matches in the Champions League. The Old Lady drew the other one.
DYBALA STAT: Dybala has scored a total of 11 Champions League goals. Every one of them has been via his left foot.
Massimiliano Allegri: "We have to be focused, knowing that we face a compact team that make the most of set pieces, and who in recent years have achieved a lot of good results in Europe. I wouldn't take a draw now – I said to the lads that it's important to score goals."
Diego Simeone: "I'm really up for this. Here in the Champions League, such a great competition, against a big team like Juventus: it's these kind of games that help us to grow. We are proud to be in this competition."
