Something tells me there is much more to come from this young and hungry Liverpool side in the near future.

'You'll never walk alone' rings around Madrid. Liverpool have been more clinical tonight, it's as simple as that.

To their credit, Tottenham aren't prepared to give up. Alisson is on hand to deny shots from Son and then Kane.

NO PENALTY! Kane goes down under the challenge of Matip but he was looking for it and the referee isn't fooled. Not Harry's night.

Scenes in Madrid. Liverpool have absolutely nowhere near their best but they have done enough to win. And after this fascinating season, who can take it away from them? It is richly deserved.

GOAL! Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool: Divock Origi, their hero against Barcelona, seals Liverpool's sixth European trophy! Tottenham fail to clear their lines from a corner, it falls to the Belgian who rifles a shot across goal and into the bottom corner.

Son spurns a golden opportunity, heading over from close range, but it wouldn't have counted - he was in an offside position.

SAVE! Eriksen's free-kick seems destined for the top corner but Alisson gets across to push it wide!

FREE-KICK! Rose is caught by Milner just outside the penalty area. This is dangerous...

Llorente is on for Spurs. He replaces Alli, in Tottenham's second switch.

DOUBLE SAVE! Alisson called into action, not just once but twice! Son's shot from distance is dipping and Alisson makes an awkward save. It comes back out to Moura who can only poke a toe at it and the Liverpool shot-stopper id down again to hold it.

OVER! Kane switches the play to Trippier. His precise cross picks out Alli who can't get the direction on his header and can't keep it down.

It's quite sad, really, that the showpiece match at the end of such a gripping season is being played out at the tempo of a pre-season friendly.

FANTASTIC DEFENDING! Wonderful defending from Van Dijk. That's not the first time you will have read that. The Reds centre-back shows frightening pace to take the ball off the toes of Son, who looked like he was through.

Eric Dier replaces Sissoko, who limps off the field.

Ambitious from Alli, to say the least. He tries to lob Alisson with a first-time effort but he doesn't get enough on the shot and the Brazilian catches it with ease.

Sissoko, Rose and Trippier are all struggling at the moment - perhaps it's cramp, but it must be a huge concern for Pochettino.
