Liverpool produced another monumental comeback in Europe to stun Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield and reach the Champions League final by winning the tie 4-3 on aggregate.
Trailing 3-0 after the first leg and without Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, Liverpool were seemingly chasing the impossible against a Barcelona side who had a treble in their sights.
However, two goals apiece from Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum – only on as a half-time substitute for the injured Andrew Robertson – sent Liverpool into the final for the second season in a row.
Origi ensured Liverpool led 1-0 at the break before Wijnaldum’s quick-fire double levelled the tie on aggregate.
And it was some quick thinking from Trent Alexander-Arnold which handed Liverpool their fourth, with the right-back taking a quick corner to find Origi, whose strike sent Anfield into delirium.
Liverpool have a final-day Premier League title race to focus on this Sunday before the final in Madrid on June 1, where they will face either Ajax or Tottenham.

TALKING POINT

Liverpool magnificent as Barca wilt under the Anfield lights. Liverpool will hardly believe how bad this Barcelona side were. Lionel Messi had inspired the Spanish club to a healthy 3-0 lead, but they were second best all over the pitch on Tuesday night. They would have heard all about these famous nights at Anfield, and they well and truly crumbled.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Trent Alexander-Arnold(Liverpool): Two goals apiece for Wijnaldum and Origi, but Alexander-Arnold gets the nod for his moment of brilliance in the build-up to the fourth goal. The right-back was walking away from the corner before spotting Origi unmarked in the middle, and he dashed back to send in the cross and catch Barcelona napping. Remarkable.

KEY MOMENTS

7’ - GOAL! LIVERPOOL TAKE THE LEAD! Would you believe it - it's Origi!!! Alba gets his header all wrong, it finds Mane who feeds it to Henderson. The Liverpool skipper dances his way through Barca's defence and forces the save from Ter Stegen - and there is Origi to tap in the rebound!
15’ - GOOD SAVE! A reminder that this Barcelona team can take the tie away from Liverpool in a second... Alba picks out Messi with a low cross but Alisson is there to tip over the forward's effort.
51’ - SAVE! Alexander-Arnold swings one right into the six-yard area and it finds Van Dijk, who can only shoot straight at Ter Stegen! BIG SAVE! Barca break and Suarez looks almost certain to score, but he doesn't connect with it well as Alisson gets down to palm it away. Not enough conviction in the shot.
54’ - GOAL! LIVERPOOL HAVE A SECOND! Game. On. Alexander-Arnold does brilliantly to win the ball back and it's his cross which finds substitute Wijnaldum, whose first-time effort gets the better of Ter Stegen!
56’ - OH MY WORD! LIVERPOOL HAVE A THIRD!!!!! Two in two minutes for Wijnaldum!!! He meets Shaqiri's cross and it leaves Ter Stegen no chance.
79’ - LIVERPOOL HAVE A FOURTH!!!!!! Origi has a second!! Alexander-Arnold takes a corner quick and there is Origi to turn it in!!!
