Odsonne Edouard scored a brace to help Celtic to a 3-1 victory in the first-leg of their Champions League second round qualifying tie with Rosenborg in Glasgow.
Rosenborg - whose preparations were disrupted by the sacking of their manager last week - took a surprise lead on 15 minutes through Birger Meling who finished aplomb with former Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner registering the assist.
But Edouard, Celtic's record signing, came to the rescue as he levelled the scores only a minute before the half-time break with a classy goal.
A change in tactics from Celtic at the interval prompted a much improved showing in the second-half, and they edged ahead with their first attack when Olivier Ntcham's beautiful curled effort from the edge of the box left Andre Hansen helpless.

Brendan Rodgers' side spurned several more chances, kbut finally registered their third of the evening on 75 minutes when the hugely impressive Edouard capped a terrific performance as he lobbed Hansen for his double.
Celtic will hope to finish the job when they travel to the home of the Norwegian champions next Wednesday for the second leg. Should they avoid a shock defeat, they will meet AEK Athens in the third round qualifying stage.

TALKING POINT

Tactical changes make the difference for recovering Celtic: The home side made a painful start and the sense of anxiety inside the ground was tangible when they fell behind. And considering how important Champions League football is to this club, is it any wonder? Something had to change at the break and Brendan Rodgers acted accordingly, altering the shape to his side for the second half. He was rewarded immediately. There were plenty of positives for the Northern Irish man tonight, but he will have wanted a fourth goal to put the tie to bed. And five or six would not have flattered his team.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Odsonne Edouard (Celtic): The energetic and dynamic 20-year-old proved the difference. Eyebrows may have been raised at the hefty price-tag Celtic paid but with performances like this, and on the big stage, he went some way to proving his critics wrong.
