FULL TIME: It's all over - Chelsea's youngsters take maximum points in a hard fought victory!
Chelsea get away with one! Tomori gives the ball back to Kepa, who clearly doesn't want it. He makes a mess of his clearance, gifting Rocha a wonderful chance to equalise, but the Spanish goalkeeper is brave to dive at his feet and smother the ball to rescue the situation.
FOUR minutes will be added on.
Chelsea will go second in Group H, as it stands. Early days, of course, but this would be a huge victory.
- OffMason MountChelsea
- OnMateo KovacicChelsea
Chelsea sub: Mateo Kovacic is on for Mount as Lampard tries to close the game out.
Chelsea sub: Pedro replaces the struggling Willian.
No penalty! Osimhen is through on goal but Kepa takes the ball from his feet cleanly. He goes down theatrically but the referee isn't fooled. That was a nervy moment.
If Chelsea can hold onto this lead it would cap a fine week for Lampard. He earned his first home victory in the Premier League on Saturday, keeping their first clean sheet under the Englishman in the process. This would be Lampard's first win in the Champions League as Blues boss.
Have Lille got anything left?
GOAAAAALLLLLL! Lille 1-2 Chelsea: A textbook volleyed finish from Willian puts the Blues in control - Hudson-Odoi is the provider! The Brazilian times his volley to perfection to blast home from the substitute's cross. Can Chelsea hang on?
- OffLuiz AraujoLille OSC
- OnXekaLille OSC
Lille sub: The home side's third and final switch sees Araujo replaced by Xeka.
Mount is through! He controls Willian's pass beautifully but his shot is pushed wide by the fingertips of Maignan.
Chelsea have gone to a back four, by the way.
Chelsea manage to open Lille up, Abraham drawing the goalkeeper out wide but his cross is hacked clear by the hosts, who counter quickly. It's selfish from Osimhen, who blazes over from outside the box.
Hudson-Odoi is involved immediately, picking out Mount who forces a corner, but the set-piece comes to nothing.
As it stands Chelsea are third, five points adrift of the leaders Ajax, who they play in back-to-back games next.
Valencia are 3-0 down, at home, to Ajax in the other game currently being played in Group H.
- OffBenjamin AndréLille OSC
- OnRenato SanchesLille OSC
Lille sub: Renato Sanches, yes, once on loan at Swansea, takes the place of Andre.
Mo Salah has restored Liverpool's lead, it's 4-3 now. What a cracking game by the sounds of it.
- OffReece JamesChelsea
- OnCallum Hudson-OdoiChelsea
Chelsea sub: Callum Hudson-Odoi takes the place of James, who didn't let himself down on his Champions League debut.
Willian is down after a collision off the ball, but Chelsea continue with their attack.
The game is in something of a lull at the moment, which will suit Chelsea considering Lille's attacking threat. How will the injury to Ikone affect their forward play?
- OffJonathan IkonéLille OSC
- OnYusuf YaziciLille OSC
Lille sub: Yusuf Yazici comes on for the impressive Ikone, whose game is over owing to Zouma's tackle a few minutes ago.
He certainly will.
Ikone has received some treatment and he's brought back to the action.
OH MY! Liverpool have thrown away a three-goal lead, the highly-rated Haaland grabbing an equaliser for RB Salzburg.
An old-school challenge from Zouma on Ikone. He had to get it right and he did. The Lille forward is in a fair bit of pain, holding his knee.
Lille sense Chelsea's vulnerability in defence, but the Blues are doing well to keep a hold of possession now in a bid to slow their momentum.
Wow, this has escalated. Had a quick glance of Liverpool's game and they're leading 3-2 now, RB Salzburg have pulled two goals back having trailed 3-0.
Great chance! Chelsea are almost undone by yet another corner! Andre makes a darting to the near post to meet Bamba's delivery and Kepa has to be at full-stretch to push his header wide!
No penalty! It was more of a case of two players coming together than a foul, but Lille are strongly appealing for a spot-kick, as Gabriel goes down under pressure from Tomori. The referee signals for a corner.
Lille defend the first corner successfully but Chelsea win another. And this time Willian plants it on the head of Tomori, but he can only head it over.
James delivers one of those low, whipped balls across the box that are really difficult to deal with, and Lille can only clear behind for a corner.
- 2nd Half
Kick-off! Lille get things moving in the second half. Having had 65% of possession so far, Chelsea will hope to be more clinical in attack to win the game.
- End of 1st Half
It's level at the break and it has been a really lively and open encounter, Tammy Abraham's opener cancelled out by Victor Osimhen.
Off the post! The ball comes out to Jorginho 25 yards out from goal and his whipped shot seems destined for the top corner, but agonisingly it crashes off the post and bounces out for a goal-kick... and that's the half!
Two minutes will be added on at the end of the first half.
- Yellow cardJonathan IkonéLille OSC
Yellow card! Ikone concedes a free-kick for a cynical foul on Tomori. Mount swings in the cross but Alonso can't keep his header down.
Wide! Willian looks like he's going to take the free-kick, but it's Alonso who curls it up and over the wall and bar. A waste.
Mount draws the foul from Andre to win Chelsea a free-kick in a central area, 25 yards out.
James, on a booking, does brilliantly well to brush Bamba off the ball and win Chelsea back in a crucial area of the pitch.
How goals change games. It's Lille who are playing with real belief and confidence now.
Osimhen looks a real talent and he looks like he's in again. Kepa is alert to the danger though and his starting position means he beats the Lille forward to the ball.
And suddenly it's all Lille. Chelsea are struggling to clear their lines.
Lille have their tails up now but this time they waste the set-piece as Bamba's free-kick delivery is straight into the arms of Kepa.
- Yellow cardReece JamesChelsea
Yellow card! James is booked for a late foul on Ikone and can have no complaints.
- GoalVictor OsimhenLille OSC
GOAL! Lille 1-1 Chelsea: The hosts are level, it's far too easy! Chelsea haven't looked comfortable using zonal marking and they're punished as Osimhen rises above two defenders to head Bamba's corner delivery past Kepa.
Big save! Chelsea find themselves in a four-vs-four situation as Lille break at speed after Willian turned into trouble. The ball is worked to Araujo who checks onto his left foot and shoots to the bottom corner, forcing Kepa into a terrific stop.
Lampard's moves into his technical area, prompting chants from the travelling supporters. They're enjoying this.
How will Lille respond? Chelsea are very well organised in their defensive shape off the ball.
Alonso goes down easily in the penalty area. Never a foul, but Chelsea are on top at the moment. That goal will give them huge confidence.
That's exactly what Lampard will have ordered!
- GoalTammy AbrahamChelsea
GOAAAAALLLLLL! Lille 0-1 Chelsea: Birthday boy Abraham gets his first goal in the Champions League and it's a beautiful finish! The 22-year-old slips away from his marker to glance home Tomori's lovely cross. There's a quick VAR check for offside... but it's going to stand.
Lille have moved up a gear now and are starting to exert real pressure. Osimhen beats Zouma to a loose ball to set up the shot but Kepa is off his line quickly to head clear.
Alonso is down after being caught on the ankle by Celik. Lille supporters aren't happy but the free-kick is given.
Awful shot! Mount ought to do better. A cross from the right is cleared only as far as the midfielder on the edge of the box. His first touch is beautiful to set up the shot, his second is very poor. It's well wide of goal.
Chelsea have been crisp and confident in their passing; Lille dangerous and incisive on the break.
Lille and Chelsea have never met before in a competitive match. They have been evenly matched in the first quarter of an hour.
A couple of early score updates for you: Liverpool are one up against RB Salzburg, Mane grabbing the goal, and Inter are ahead in Barcelona through Martinez.
James delivers a cross in from the right and that's not an entirely confident punch from Lille goalkeeper Maignan. The hosts look rather nervous in defence.
Lille are asking questions of the visitors now, forcing a corner, but Zouma is the man who makes the block this time around when a shot comes in from the edge of the area.
Lille are rapid on the break and James scuffs his clearance but Azpilicueta bails him out with an important block.
Willian has looked sharp, playing across the entire midfield.
Oh, this is adventurous from the wingbacks. Willian pulls it wide to Alonso, whose ball across the box evades everyone. It falls to James on the other flank and with more confidence he may have picked out a white shirt in the middle. Alas, Lille clear.
The visitors are enjoying the lion's share of possession so far. They have settled quickly, the youngsters growing in confidence with every touch.
Chelsea are using the full width of the pitch in the early stages, moving it from side to side.
- 1st Half
Kick-off! Chelsea get the game underway in France.
Like Chelsea, Lille also suffered defeat on matchday one. If it's not a must-win for both sides, it's certainly a must-not-lose. Draw?
FIVE minutes until kick off! This will be an interesting game.
Lampard has been speaking about Kante to BT Sport: "He's important. His career speaks for itself. It's good to have him fit. He's had a stop-start season due to injuries. He adds energy and quality." On the hosts... "Lille have a lot of speed in attack, our defence will be tested."
Lampard played down the importance of the game in his pre-match conference but speaking to BT Sport, Azpilicueta described tonight as a "100 per cent must win for Chelsea".
This is from yesterday...
Lille are winless in eight Champions League home matches, losing five, since beating AEK Athens in October 2006. That's not a great record, is it? However, they have won all four of their home games in Ligue 1 this season.
What an opportunity for young James tonight. It looks like he will play on the right in a back-five. The 19-year-old was on loan with Wigan Athletic last season and scored in Chelsea's 8-1 victory over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup last week.
Luiz Arauho scored a classy goal in Lille's 1-1 draw at Nice at the weekend, and he will be handful for the Blues this evening. Former Swansea loanee Renato Sanches also starred in that draw, but he's not fully fit and only makes the bench tonight.
Lampard isn't panicking about the home defeat to Valencia last time out. "I don't think Valencia was the worst game for us," he said. "We should have got a result. With Lille, they have a lot of threats, speed and quality. It is not the be-all and end-all, we have to see it in the big picture, but it's a game we have to be ready for."
And there's no place on the bench for Christian Pulisic...
Oh, that's an interesting team selection by Lampard. He's boosted by the return of N'Golo Kante and it's a huge night for 19-year-old Reece James who makes his Champions League debut in defence. Ross Barkley drops out of the squad altogether after reports of a night out in Liverpool on Sunday.
